We had a homebuyer report dun by this company 6months ago. They failed to notice that the driveway was above the damp course level! Causing me me to have the full ground floor removed and concreted at the expense of £10,000 because all the floor joists was rotten on the drive side of the house! The failed to notice that the back bedroom bay window floor had dropped by 50mm/2 because of a badly built extension to the rear. The also failed to find that the detached garage was subsiding at the rear clearly never even looked at.The chimney stack leaking in!The list is endless. Avoid this company at al costs they are clearly incompetent at there job and don't do full checks. I am currently in the process of pursuing the matter further."

After paying off the mortgage on our current property, we want to lend against it to raise a deposit towards a new property. Colleys were foisted on us by Birmingham Midshires as they are all part of Lloyds. Their first available appointment was over a week away, but they rang that morning to cancel, with no explanation. They promised to ring back later in the day to rearrange, but didn't. I spent 45 minutes on my mobile the next day to rearrange. At first they would only offer another appointment through a 3rd party which was going to be nearly 3 weeks away. After complaining, they said the best they could offer was to reschedule for 10 days in the future. I was offered £60 compensation after being left on hold for 15 minutes and then being asked to repeat the basis of my complaint. You'd think after cancelling on me with no advance warning or explanation I would be treated as a priority, but no, I'm being sent to the back of the queue and have no confidence it will actually go ahead.

Very untrustworthy ,they missed a lot of important defects on my home buyers report costing me in hidden repairs including surface evidence of underpinning which my property is ,.One star is to kind when i really want to sue them for negligenceDO NOT USE THIS POOR SERVICEAlso their inspector of compliants thought my gas fire was a real coal fire and made joking comments regarding slanting doors and seemed very unprofessional in his duty.Another important point to make.DO NOT use the Property Ombudsman as you will wait months and find they take sides with Colleys, making you look a liar

Terrible. Arranged valuation at great expense (forced to by lender). They canceled on the day. Phoned them, and they said the surveyor canceled our house because he was running late" although no reported traffic issues in the area. I later found out the surveyor had gone on holiday and basically wanted to finish early. It took another 10 days for them to arrange another valuation after they refused to move any one else's appointment or find an alternative. We missed our proposed competition date and had to pay an extra months rent which cost us over £2000

Poor expensive and unprofessional service. A report which bore little relation to the property and was riddled with basic errors. For example saying a brand new kitchen needed upgrading and the property had a flying freehold when it had no such thing. Dangerous because buyers and lenders need accurate info and not a copy and paste from another report. Tip: ask lenders which surveyors they use and if they use Colleys then go elsewhere.

POOR POOR POOR.If you want problems, no responsibility taken for issues and a general unprofessional service then use this firm.If you want to get something that resembles good service, quality prices and a professional service then use someone else. They just do not have a clue what they are doing and think twice before selecting them.1 star is just too generous.
