Visited Marugame Udon in Reading last Tuesday with my family and had an exceptional experience. Ordered curry chicken noodles, pork noodles, and tempura - the taste was outstanding and reminiscent of what I enjoyed in Japan. The portion of the food is big with friendly price comparing to other Japanese restaurant around the area.Met three staff members during our visit who were incredibly welcoming and even offered snacks for the kids. The manager, Luca, talked to us and saying this is the first Marugame Udon established in the UK which is outside London. The location is conveniently central in Reading, with hassle-free parking at the Oracle shopping mall. My family and I very much enjoyed the visit. Highly recommend!

Visited this restaurant a couple days ago with some friends and the food was amazing with prices being reasonable and affordable. The ambience and atmosphere of the venue was immaculate too.The staff were also helpful and lovely to talk to, especially Luca who was a delight to interact with.He was also a wonderful trainee photographer!Definitely revisiting Marugame in the weeks to come!

I love this place! Easy, quick and f. delicious ! We ordered 2 regular udon’s bowls, one with Chicken Katsu Curry ( the portion were absolutely generous) and the beef Nikutama. Prices were good.. best udon Japanese bowl out there !

Love the canteen style service - very fast to get the food this way. Great options for vegetarians like me! Tempura is very crispy and soft inside and Bodrul (server/manager) was so welcoming showing us how it all worked. Would 100% recommend and has great value - delicious.

It was Luca. Went with some friends yesterday and we wanted to take some pictures and Luca took them and was even in a few of the pictures himself :) He is a funny guy he made all of us laugh and he gave us free ice cream at the end! We wouldn't have had such a great experience without him. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. Luca was the moment. Luca is HIM. WE LOVE YOU LUCA <3

The food was really quick and we were able to get down to eat very quickly. The service was quick and the servers were really helpful and nice. Bodrul was very welcoming and showed us around the restaurant and explained their udon making process which they pride themselves on. The udon definitely proved themselves and definitely worth the little price. I got the chicken katsu which was very delicious and very crispy chicken was is desirable. I would definitely recommend coming here if you need something quick and tasty.

Pleasantly surprised with every thing : )Great value food, very good quality food that tastes good, great atmosphere and super nice staff !The small size bowl is perfect for me and easy to finish if you don't have a huge appetite (and it's actually a good size for a full meal). The large potion is really big (which is great).The tempura are also very nice, but a little pricey. I really appreciate the tempura bits and pickled ginger being available.Overall I greatly recommend this place, yes it's not as great as places in HK and Japan but that's a hugely unfair comparison. It's probably some of the better udon you can have in the UK and the best at this price
