Lake 86 Cotswold Water Park

Passing by and fancied a swim, unfortunately the lake requires a £10 season membership and then £7 for a swim. £34 for the 2 of us. We went elsewhere in the water park and had a wonderful swim for £8 each.

Thank you so much for my wonderful paddleboarding self launch on Monday the 18th. The staff were incredibly patient and helpful as it was my first time launching since I got my paddleboard and I struggled with a couple of things and they helped every step of the way. A wonderful lake with plenty of space and they were very accommodating with my access needs.

During the week, I was invited to swim up in the Cotswolds. I jumped at the chance to swim at Lake 86, somewhere I hadn't visited; I had a great time and would recommend a visit.Lake 86 is sandwiched between Swindon and Cirencester; it's easily accessible from the M4 and the M5 motorways. Check out their website for their full address.The lake has a great set-up; you can hire paddle boards, single and tandem kayaks and inflatable rafts for up to six; however, I was there for the open water swimming. The lake consists of two triangular courses set inside the other. The lake has two swimming distances, a 400m and 800m loop. I love visiting new places to swim, and the best bit for me is meeting people who share my joy of open water swimming.Although Lake 86 wasn't 'accessible for wheelchair users, with some thought and prior planning, this shouldn't stop anyone who wishes to book a swim. My advice, phone beforehand and let them know that you may require some help. That's what I did; they were happy to help me.There is also a rather lovely coffee shop, Ohana. The shop sells quality coffee, excellent cake and crepes. There's nothing better than congratulating yourself with a nice post-swim hot drink.

Great place to learn SUP. Would be good if the lake had a path to walk around but nice areas nearby for a walk. 3 stars because the porta loos are extremely unhygienic

I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. I'm a disabled single mum with 3 kids in tow, the amount of help I've had from staff and others makes this a sport I can do.Everyone is so friendly and helpful, this is truly one of my happy places. I can't wait to come back every time I leave.

Easy lake to learn how to sup board or canoe. Plenty of parting, even for campers when the field is open. Places to eat and drink, parking is pretty flat and free. You can bring your own or hire out. Bring your own is £10 for 2.5 hours.

Fantastic place. Staff were brilliant! Mum was struggling and really wanted to be able to stand up so they gave her some tips and a different board. It was a success! Will definitely be going back.

Brilliant day out.Very organised. We waited maybe 5 minutes when we arrived to get life jackets and get into the kayak. But it was great way to kill an hour or so
