Capoeira North West - Cordão De Ouro

I have been coming to this group for over 2 years now. The teacher is fantastic, and the group is so friendly. Coming here twice a week has done wonders for my well being...it's no exaggeration to say this group has changed my life!Practical side note - the cost is really good value too as the classes are often 1 hour and a half, sometimes longer ;-)

Easy to reach by bus or bike and a nice little walk from town, I take the boys every week to the academy. The first time ever they want to go back to an activity and actually look forward to it every time. I love to see how fast they learn and grow and that is also thanks to a wonderful teacher. They explore their boundaries and discipline and have fun at the same time. And what's great, it is all with traditional music and instruments they also learn to play themselves. Capoeira nourishes, makes you strong and flexible in body and mind, I love it so much I started training myself, thank you, Mestre Parente, thanks capoeira family.

Capoeira is a deadly martial art, it's music, is friendship, it's poetry in motion. There's very few places in which this discipline is taught on the level Mestre Parente does. The class is amazing and dynamic; challenging on every level. The Mestre is extremely talented, patient, supportive and an esteemed friend. The group itself is a huge family. Don't miss the chance to be part of it.

The best place to train capoeira in the NW. An incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and generous Mestre with a warm and friendly group of students. If you want to get fit, have fun and learn this beautiful art- go there!

Amazing place. Mestre Parente is possibly the best teacher if you want to learn Capoeira, awesome community of people that quickly become your friends. I traveled half the World several time just to spend some time with them. I've been training with Mestre Parente now since 2009 and he really accepted me as a student, I'm part of another group in Spain, and Mestre really respects that.He is a great inspiration to many of us that train with him. The group has an international massive structure and that reflects in the training sessions that are structured and organised working on different elements of capoeira.If you train capoeira and stick with it, it will change your life!

My grandson has been going to Capoeira classes for just under a year and he loves it. Capoeira has been great for his physical development, concentration and social skills. Mestre Parente is great with the children and teaches the movements and culture through fun activities and games. They also play traditional Capoeira instruments and learn some songs in Portuguese. Lovely group of people.

I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to learn from Mestre Parente. He's an amazing capoeirista and I love his style of teaching! Great classes and a welcoming group! I feel like I got not only friends, but a big family since I started practicing here :)
