A huge thank you to DC and the shallows team for pulling together the most amazing package for styling before my wedding at whitworth Locke.DC was an excellent coordinator of all of the self employed staff at the shallows, pulling together options and contacts for me to select the best possible options for the day.Helen did an amazing job of my hair styling and my bridesmates, ensuring everything ran smoothly with a trail run and really listening to changes and little details which made the styling perfect.Helen also did makeup for the day which was just beautiful, we can’t thank Helen enough.DC as always went above and beyond with all of the little details and running us through the tunnels of the shallows to sneak me away without guests seeing me is just one example of how she ensures everyone is perfect!!Thank too so much x

Had a buff manicure done by Beth-the hand massage was very relaxing and my own nails have never looked so good! Amazing! Many thanks Beth, you are sure to see me again soon! x

My visit to Shallows wasn’t just your average salon trip. It felt like an appointment and experience all in one! What a fantastic group of people, building, setting and vibe!I enjoyed every second and will most definitely be returning. I cannot recommend it enough. Such a unique business ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shallows is like a second home to me, as a Neurodivergent person I feel so comfortable there. It’s incredibly inclusive and everyone ensures your needs are fully met. I’ve been several times to get tattoos from Sammie, who is super friendly and such a vibe, making me feel at ease each time. Not to mention the owner DC, who has put in so much effort to make the studio the wonderful place it is today. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone! It’s literally my favourite place, for tattoos, hair, alt beauty!

Just want to give Leighton (Leight Ink) and the studio the thanks they deserve!I've had 5 or 6 smaller tattoos with Leighton this year and every time I have loved the end result and the experience I had along the way but last week, I sat for a much much larger piece and cannot express enough how happy I was with the entire process.All in all, the piece took 8-9 hours and Leighton made sure I had the most comfortable experience and was supportive every step of the way. He didn't make me feel rushed, even from the stencilling stage, and constantly made sure I was happy with the design before the needle even went near me! Throughout the tattooing process he was so patient with me, encouraging and reassuring every single second, adjusting to my needs and not once making me feel like the long sitting was a chore (even when it was probably surely a bit annoying/tiring after a long 6/7 hours of me twitching and readjusting because I was getting a sensitive area tattooed!). Generally, he simply provided me what may be the best tattooing experience I have had to date. Not to mention the end result that he produced - the tattoo itself is absolutely stellar, and more than I could have ever hoped for when I first had the idea for this piece, and that is all down to Leighton.Everyone in the studio is lovely and welcoming, other artists pitched in to give their much welcomed opinions during the stencilling process and throughout the day would nip over and take a look at the progress made. The team there offers tattooing, piercing, hair styling/barbering, nails, lashes/brows, aesthetic work, massages and beauty treatments, honestly anything you could ever want and need! I even had my hair trimmed whilst I was there by Phoebe (Rude Hair) who was as lovely and chatty and helpful as everybody else I had talked to - a real treat.The place itself has a brilliant way of making you feel comfortable and at home, and I imagine this is due to the culture that DC (owner) has curated and nurtured within the space. The space, the decor and overall brand of Shallows is second to none, a really cool aura. But the culture and feel of the studio is what really does it - DC has created something really brilliant and to say that visiting the studio is a pleasure would be an understatement.After being tattooed by multiple artists and in multiple studios all over the world, I would recommend Shallows (the studio as a whole), and particularly Leighton who I cannot thank enough for this experience, to absolutely everyone and anyone I know. 10/10.

I’ve had my nails done several times by Beth/Buffed_n_Scuffed and she is insanely talented! The studio is also such a lovely welcoming environment, where everyone will chat to you and ask you about what you’re getting done. I’ve also had a piercing from Doomshinepiercings and I love it - she was so lovely and made me feel so at ease. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, but especially queer/neurodivergents<3EDIT: Have now had a massage from Melissa/witchbarbiebeauty and it was absolutely amazing! I left feeling so so relaxed and it massively helped with my back pain. Will definitely be a regular!

Probably my favourite beauty, tattoo and aesthetics venue of all time. Love how you can get pretty much any service done all under one roof, and in such a welcoming and inclusive setting.I’ve had two tattoos at Shallows so far and both times I’ve been really happy with the results. The artists are incredibly professional, considerate and patient. DC and her team are a credit to the Manchester beauty scene. Can’t wait to visit again soon! ❤️
