Very happy with the service. We had a survey arranged for the week after our initial enquiry, and received the report about 10 days later. We went for a Level 3 as the house we're buying is almost 100 years old, so it was great to see the level of detail provided. We've got a few issues to raise with the seller so very glad we went for the full survey.

Booked and paid for a survey for a property we want to buy, all seemed good appointment was made promptly. Unfortunately we had to postpone the survey as our buyer had some mortgage issue. Which we told Scott and we were told that that is fine. Now, our buyer has his mortgage agreed and we try to re-book the survey for a month already but can't get hold of them. No answer on the phone lines, no answer to emails nothing, on the website is not even a complaints procedure. Now have to pay another surveyor to do the survey as I am otherwise losing that property. Of couse I am also now left with trying to get my money back somehow. Really frustrating.

Got a quote from Hugh james through reallymoving.com and I am so glad I went with them. They answered my initial questions straight away and got the survey booked and kept me and the agent informed. Scott was absolutely fantastic! We requested quotes and emailed them all back, and Scott was the first one to provide a human response to our questions. I can not praise Scott enough. I arranged for a level 3 building survey as the property I was interested in purchasing was old. The inspection was done within a couple of days of being instructed and the level of service was fantastic. The report was emailed to me and was exceptionally detailed. In advice from the solicitor we asked the seller to get some quotes for all the work that needed doing. Unfortunately they were not prepared to do anything so I had to make the difficult decision to not go ahead with the purchase.When I find the next property I will definitely be using Scott again.Thank you for all your help.

Had the pleasure of using HJS, we've used them 3 times and Scott travelled all the way from Peterborough to Luton to carry out the survey. Communication with Emma, Becky and Scott was excellent. There was always a prompt response by email from Emma and Becky and telephone call, WhatsApp messages from Scott.Scott is super friendly and highly professional. He offered sound advice prior to our extension which helped us realise the potential of our property. Excellent price for a valuable survey.I contacted them, needing a level 3 building survey done at short notice and they were very helpful and quick to arrange a date with the sellers.The survey provided flagged issues that we had not even thought of or noticed about the property, namely that the loft had been converted and a load bearing wall had been partially removed, things that we should check if they had planning permission and building regulations for, which it turned out the owners did not have. This, coupled with the fact that the roof was sagging and needing support would mean that a huge amount of expense would have been incurred in bringing the loft up to regulations (which would be required) for a roof support to be put in place.We subsequently pulled out of the purchase, and are very glad we did so.The only issue is that they were not quick to answer emails, however they always picked up the phone when I rang, so would recommend ringing over emailing.
