Arrived here from London for a day trip. I was kind of expecting an ultra modern and large railway station, but this is actually a cute little station that still retains the Victorian era architectural elements. The designs of the interior signage remind a little of Harry Potter. The inside is pretty clean and there's the a few amenities, such as a newsagents and a cafe. Given that New Street station and the Bullring are just a short walk aways, that probably all thats needed anyway.

Mild November, evening with families out in force, some in nightwear, to take Polar Express to Stratford.

Beautiful historic station with vintage signs. Great location for getting to/from Smithfield for the Commonwealth Games as well as the city centre. A great alternative to the overcrowded New St. Station.

Considering they're are constantly going on strike and raising ticket prices, you'd think they would be able to keep the station clean. The pathway on platform 2 leading to the exit absolutely stinks of urine, its disgusting. Surely they can afford to get some bleach and hot water. Fix it please!!

always nice and clean good spacious waiting areas and informative boards for passengers to view my only slight criticism would be that there arent enough gates to pass through. I often find that when i come off a busy train there is confusion at the gates which passengers wanting to enter and leave the station through them.

At the barrier a south Asian female worker who was working today around 1:30pm was so rude my little sis came to buy a ticket as our ticket place was closed and she was asking my little sister for ID why would a person under 15 carry ID bang out of order and speaking so rude to her. They need to train staff properly and use their common sense so had to my sister had to show her a picture of her in a school uniform to prove she’s under 15. She was charging her an adult ticket!!!

My first trip to London after several years in a wheelchair. We travelled out at 10am and back at 10pm. There were taxis in the drop off bay but they smiled (!)and moved when we indicated to pull in.The station was compact and easy to get around, it wasn’t crowded. The ticket collection machine was easy for me to use. Disabled loo was fine. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Have already booked another visit :)

I like this station and the nostalgic feel. Always clean and inviting. Use vending machine normally as book on a well known train ticket website. No immediate parking but there are a few large carparks nearby. Toilets are available on the platform as is a lift which l remember was installed in Nov/Dec 2005. There is a café so you can get food and drink prior to your journey. I would recommend this station just because of the architectural splendour.
