James Oakley Humanist Celebrant

James was the humanist celebrant at our recent wedding and wow! We cannot recommend him highly enough! The whole process was so relaxed and James made it completely stress free. From the first enquiry right down to James meeting me outside the chapel before I walked In for a little pep talk! James took lots of time getting to know us as a couple and listening to our story and bad jokes. He wrote the funniest, most personal ceremony for us and by the wedding day it really felt like an old friend was marrying us. A lot of our family had never attended a humanist ceremony before and were just blown away by how special it was. Could not recommend James more. Would give 10 stars if we could! You are fantastic at your job - everyone hasn't stopped talking about how brilliant you were during the ceremony, and they've all commented on how it was the most entertaining and memorable wedding ceremony they'd ever witnessed. It was not only one of our favourite parts of the whole day, but our guests too. We couldn't be more thrilled. It went better than we could ever have imagined, and it's all down to the time and effort you put in... coming to visit us in the flat, making it all so personal and funny, coming along to the rehearsal... If you only get married once (and we really hope this is it), then James is perfect. He is both calming, but also a comfortable and confident speaker. he can hold a room, but also keep everyone at ease. He can be funny; sometimes very funny, yet can also grasp the solemness of the occasion. I genuinely couldn't recommend anyone more, he made our wedding.

James is a fantastic celebrant. We got married in April and he played a big part in making our day so special. Lots of our guests commented on how great he was and they loved the ceremony that James had worked to put together with us. The whole process was very easy from start to finish. James provided great advice and also provided fantastic examples for us to use as a basis. He also listened to the story of how we met and also took time to understand who we are as a couple now and made sure to incorporate this into the day so that we had something really personal. We cannot recommend James enough!
