2nd time we've stayed here - very reasonably priced (£115 for both of us - included a full English which hit the spot!). The staff here were excellent - particularly Natalie! Comfy and clean, only knocked off a star due to it looking in need of a fresh lick of paint and a bit of TLC which I'm sure it'll get in time. Highly recommend - will stay again next time we're in the vicinity!

Beautiful hotel. So peaceful. Natalie was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. She truly is amazing. Breakfast was superb and the scones and cream was delicious. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a fan in the room because it was too hot. Thanks a million Natalie. You're a star

Had an excellent stay at The Old Rectory. The room was spacious, clean ,comfy bed for good night sleep.Food was nicely presented and tasty including delicious breakfast, however the best was the service, very attentive, friendly and welcoming.Special thanks to Natalie who is a great asset to this business and made me feel very welcomed and looked after.Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully be back for another stay.

From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost care and friendliness. We were surprised when the receptionist insisted she carried some of our luggage up to our lovely room. As the weather was hot the first thing I asked was were we able to open the window. It was opened for us thankfully. I dislike hotel rooms where windows are permanently locked. We were made to feel very welcome during our 2 night stay in Wem. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing and everything was spotless. We will definitely return to this hotel when we visit Wem, the town where I was brought up in the 50s/60s.

Beautiful location, the grounds are very well kept.Customer service was excellent, the front of house staff got my a plate and cutlery for my takeaway food I had with him and brought drinks to my room.Room was very clean with a good shower facility, bed was super comfy and room temperature was perfect for a good night sleep.Breakfast was served early and it was amazing, freshly cooked quality food, would highly recommend.

We have revisited for an overnight stay to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. Nothing much has changed, just as we remembered it on our wedding day but still very well maintained. Staff very friendly and remembered us! Great spacious and warm rooms, especially considering it was winter and snow on the ground outside! Thanks x x

The Old Rectory hosted my baby shower in the orangery and it was perfect. The room well set up, lots of room to move around, warm and created a really nice atmosphere even in November. The afternoon tea was spot on and everyone really enjoyed it - especially the kids who had their own mini afternoon teas too.Nothing was too much trouble for Natalie on the day or in the build up.I would highly recommend if you are after a venue for a special occasion.

Staff can't do enough for you, but rooms need to be brought back out of the 1960s. Nothing like the pictures on the website. Letdown first morning breakfastFantastic. Second day not. Fully cookedEnded up being sick diarrhoea in bed all day wasted third day had to travel homeAnd take anti sickness tablets and imodium tablets just to try and get home. Ended up my son and his friend had to travel to Bolton and meet us so he could drive my car back with me in the back seat....the place let's all the staff down.....
