Dogs Understood

Sally is the dog whisper!! She has helped us understand and train our new puppy, Sally is fantastic and communicates so well. She is calm and in control. My daughter has benefited hugely from the sessions, it’s so good to see Burt’s bond grow with my daughter thanks to Sally. Looking forward to more sessions, if we put the hard work now with Sally’s help we will have a well trained companion to go on adventures with. Our 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback was very territorial in our village, and had lead reactivity issues with dogs he would see on a day to day basis. After trying everything possible, I decided to email Dogs understood and booked in a telephone consultation.From this we were given very helpful tips and advice on changes we needed to make in the home first, more boundaries! Never realised how important they were until after this call!This was followed up by a home visit, where we could demo Logans reactivity.Homework was given and was going well. After our second meet up with Sally, Logan was a changed dog !Today we walked past 11 dogs in our village, some face on, others side by side, and all I got out of Logan, was a wagging tail :D !Before meeting with Sally this walk would have been impossible, after the 3rd dog, I would have given in due to the stress! All 11 Dogs would have triggered a reaction. One owner didn't believe that it was the same dog!!We are over the moon with Sally's work ! Her knowledge and skills were very much appreciated! Such a great dog behaviourist! She really has shown Logan how great a lead walk can be ! Thank you!

Sally came to visit my 18 week old cockerpoo Ralf last night for an hour...and my goodness what a difference in behaviour already! Sally is literally the dog whisperer...advice which has been taken on board, we've had a peaceful and stress free morning as well! Thoroughly recommend Sally for no nonsense common sense advice.

Sally is amazing! She can apply her 20 years of knowledge and experience to resolving any behavioural and training issue. She has worked her magic on our Goldies, helping us to work through correcting behaviours (both physical and psychological) which appeared impossible to overcome, resulting in happy, well trained beautiful dogs. I first met Sally when my puppy Ned was 4 months old, and an absolute handful. She changed our lives, and relationship with Ned, immeasurably, after one session. She has continued to be a support, and most recently, has been an absolute game changer with Ned’s lead walking. Thank you Sally.

Sally has been helping us for nearly 2 years, since we first contacted her about our German Shepherd who barked a lot at other dogs. Now, our dog is well behaved, and receives lots of compliments on his behaviour and friendly nature. It is now an enjoyment to go out for walks in different environments. This is a big difference compared to the initial dread and anxiety I felt taking my dog out, along with the frustrating times where both myself and my dog would receive all sorts of looks. From being anxious and not confident to take my dog out or let him off the lead, I feel much more confident and proud in handling him. This is all thanks to the support and guidance Sally has provided.No matter what issue I might have, Sally will always go out of her way to help, which is always appreciated. Sally has helped the whole family in handling our dog, and is now known as Auntie Sally! Amazing. Sally has completely changed our lives. Everything we have worked on has seen dramatic improvements and we have learnt so much in the process. I would recommend to everyone, you and your dog family will have a better life for it.

We contacted Sally to help us with our 3 Yr old labradoodle and what a difference she made! In addition to addressing the specific issue we had, she took a broader look at how our pooch operated in our household and suggested some adjustments, all of which made an immediate difference! We'd defo gotten some of the fundamentals wrong so Sally gave us a good grounding and plenty of reassurance. We'd definitely use her again!

I first met Sally just over 2 years ago when i had a melt down with a new puppy. All i can say is i have never looked back. Initially meeting with Sally every few weeks keeping my puppy on the right road on behaviours and now monthly just to keep my lively Sprocker Spaniel in check. Sally helped us with our young French bulldog after we’d had a long struggle training him. She is very knowledgeable, gave us and our dog the confidence to enjoy walks again, massively improved his recall and general obedience and has always been on hand when we’ve had questions since. In just a few sessions we saw an amazing difference in our dog and he was able to do things we never thought were possible. Highly recommend and only wish we’d gone to Sally sooner!
