The service and location were fantastic, a great spot to stop after a lovely coastal walk. Unfortunately, the food we had was a little bit of a let down for the price. The fish cakes were quite good but unfortunately the salad served on the side was going off and soggy, and the burger was disappointing. It won’t stop us coming back for a drink as we felt the staff were very friendly and the service was good in a beautiful setting, but the food could be improved for the prices. Good choice of zero beers though and lovely coffee.

Quality food, and drinks (good selection of ales), served in a thirteenth century pub restaurant. Superb location and the friendliest of staff. My dog even got offered a sausage!*please mind your head on the low beams throughout the premises!(Couldn't rate the accommodation as we only stopped for lunch)

The Smugglers has plenty of 'wow' factors: the views, the location, the food, the atmosphere, the rooms, the service.Stayed here three nights and felt it was great value, with incredibly good service (especially from the landlord's partner who went out of her way to see we were happy and being looked after). The rooms were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable - although we would have liked another chair. It all felt great value as well as a lot of luxurious touches: it really is worth paying a bit extra for this kind of quality and service. The food was excellent too. This is a great example of how a pub should be run.

Enjoyed a lovely family Sunday Roast here last weekend. Fantastic location although access to the 'hidden' beach was closed off.Parking was a bit of a struggle but found a spot further up the road. It's clearly a very popular location. After a starter I ordered a beef roast -£17.95. The other option was chicken (which my wife had) or Nut roast. My eldest (8) had the children's beef. There was no price on the menu but I was a little surprised it was £13.95 on payment.Food was very nice. It's however the most expensive roasts I've ever bought but despite being good, not the best, hence the 4*.

Lovely pub, great surroundings. Food was great and staff very friendly. They even moved some tables around for us so we were more comfortable. Only slight downside was it took a while to get the bill, we had to ask a few times but got there in the end.

Had a lovely early meal here for 4 & 2 dogs midweek. The quality of food was excellent and the staff super friendly! They even gave our dogs some sausages. A little error with our order was speedily sorted out without issue. Next time we're in the area we will definitely be visiting again!

Took my Mum here for Sunday lunch to celebrate her birthday. Absolutely stunning place. The food was great with quick and friendly service, especially given it was a busy Sunday. The historic building is beautifully preserved and hosts a relaxed but interesting atmosphere. We were blessed with sunny weather on our visit and were treated to gorgeous views around the coastline and across to Weymouth and Portland. One of our party members has mobility issues, however we found no issues gaining access from the car park, down the ramp, to the door. The rough car park is for the pub only but was quite full on our visit. There are coastal paths from the pub and the hidden beach is a short walk, although the footpath down is very steep. I don't know what the accommodation is like but I can highly recommend the restaurant for a quality, relaxing meal.

Wow, the size of those delicious fishcakes and the fish and chips! Superb. Great food, great prices. REALLY friendly staff.Came with my very elderly father and the young staff couldn't be friendlier and more helpful. The last time my father visited was 74 years ago when it was The Lobster Pot!!!

First time re visiting my childhood secret location not many people know about. I used to come here all the time with family and grandparents however now they have all passed - it felt right to visit today with my other half and I have to say after a lot of emotion the excellent Sam and team gave 5 star service and it was exactly as I remember now even better. Perfect location perfect food and drink and best of all perfect and friendly staff. Beyond very cosy in front of the freshly lit fire that Sam did just for us upon arrival. Highly recommended and now I've discovered you can stay there overnight so will definitely be doing so very soon. Thank you Sam for a great experience. Kind regards Alex and Nikki plus Lolly the dog!
