Stayed for a couple of nights and, for a budget hotel, it’s fine. Room was clean, TV worked, shower was hot, bathroom was clean. Receptionists we’re friendly, polite, and helpful. Close to the centre of Newcastle and plenty of free parking.

Absolute joke my room was dirty from previous person, had to get another room, whilst waiting in reception there was another guest in reception sniffing a can of something poorly hidden up his sleeve. When I pointed out the man to the receptionist and told him that he was abusing some sort of substance. He just shugged his shoulders. Then the room I did end up with there was no towels for shower, the TV had not had any channels turned in.I certainly won't be back. Also advertises free parking there is a handful of parking spaces I had to park my van opposite not in car park

awful hotel I don’t even know where to begin. We lifted the toilet seat and it fell off, there was no toilet roll, I asked for one the next morning and was give a half used one. I hung my coat up and the actual hanger fell off the wall! The bed sheets were damp and stained. There was mould and water damage everywhere. The kettle was used and dirty. They then tried to fine me £100 for damages that were not even our fault or we’re already there do not recommend i’m pretty sure it’s a scam. We were also told we were smoking in the room,WHICH WE WERE NOT. and that they had proof however what proof would they have without a camera in the room as well as seeing us sat outside for an hour to have a cigarette. DO NOY GO HERE!!

Great staff and they were helpful when I turned up having booked the wrong days. The rings were very cheap, but our room was unavailable due to a flooded floor. The walls were very thin and the plumbing was noisy and we moved rooms after our first night too a different room with a wet floor. It seemed clean. TVs in rooms, the first was a smart TV, but no accounts logged in. The second TV just had an aerial.

Booked through Booking.com for the very reasonable price of £28 for a saturday night. Now to start the pictures on Booking.com are a bit catfish, i would be suprised if they are even this hotel, although the outside of the building is lovely and the reception area is nice.If i am honest i read the reviews on trust pilot and was seriously considering just booking another hotel and not turning up here. As far as i can tell the hotel either used to have some serious issues which they have corrected, have people with a vendetta against the hotel or previous guests had excessive expectations, that said i would be a lot less happy had a paid the prices some others say they have on the reviews.I was checked in by freindly reception staff and went to my box room, that i can best describe as the most luxurious prison cell that you would get in the UK for good behaviour (minus the toilet). Toilets and shower facilaties are shared at this hotel. As far as i could tell the bedsheets were clean, as i had read other reviews i was especially looking for issues and didnt find many. The drawer that was provided appeared to have some dirt on the inside and also the curtain was slightly broken so that it didnt shut fully (i was however able to cover the entire window by putting the bottom of the curtain over the top of the railing and covering the space at the bottom with a kind of sofa pillow they leave on the bed. The shared bathroom appeared to be clean. My main issue with the room was the noise from the guests above, who i can only assume are under 18 and unable to go out in town and as such were using the room to party in and what sounded like their own rendition of Smack Down vs Raw and at points i seriously though one of them maybe suplexed through my ceiling. This went on for some time, as im not a grass i didnt say anything to the hotel, but assumed others must as i could hear the reception staff warn them multiple times.I dont envy that job at all, but if it was me i would have removed them from the hotel. To make matters worse however they then set of the buildings fire alarm by obviously vaping in the hotel room.At this point i had enough and spoke with the guy at reception, who kindly moved me to another part of the hotel where it was blisfully silent. This room was slightly bigger and had a double bed, curtains that closed and much to my delighy a picture of a maritime view of Portsmouth (im from Pompey)The area its in is a little rough, although no worse than i am used to. The hotel was good value for money and the biggest issue was the other guests, which the hotel sorted for me.A pre midnight taxi off the rank from Newcastle central station cost me £12.00. In Jan 22.Overall i would definatly stay here again, i cant give anymore than 3 stars because it is basic, but i hardly expected the ritz for 28 quid

As soon as we walked in it wasn’t what we payed for… we asked for 1 double and 2 singles but walked into BUNKBEDS!!!. There was no towels or condiments (Tea/Coffee). Then we moved the quilts back and found actual bed bugs and spiders crawling all over. Windows don’t close properly, the whole place is falling apart. No cold water.curtains are nailed to the wall so they do not move. No where to put clothing unless you put them in uncleaned draws with nasty stains in… it was just disgustingWill not be returning back here.

I think some of the previous reviews are perhaps a bit harsh... I stayed here the Halloween weekend 2021, Fri-Sun and I was very happy. It was cheap, clean and warm. The area is residential with very warm people and there's great transport links to the city, plus there's tonnes of takeaways, barbers, newsagents etc so you're well catered for. The staff in particular took great care of me.... even letting me check-in 3 hours early as the knew I was exhausted. So if you want a cheap and decent place to kip while you explore a very impressive city or just a weekend of partying then I highly recommend the Grangier House Hotel.

Got to the room after a long day expecting being able to make a cup of tea... The tea and coffee tray was practically empty and what was there was scattered all over. The shower had no shower gel or shampoo (pence a bottle)! The toilet seat was hanging on one hinge! The windows were draughty. Comfortable bed though :)

Rent for 3 weeks. Just the location is about 18 minutes from the center by bus. Superb accommodation although a bit small. And u need to inform them if u want to clean your room. If not they wont top up ur condiment. Overall excellent.
