After hearing of a review that was recently left, I felt as a current employee at warberries I’d like to leave one myself. Many places of work have ups and downs, people have good days people have bad days. This is the same wherever you go. This doesn’t mean that people should leave reviews making up bare faced lies. I’d like to address the comment where “Lucy and Helen went above a nurses head to cancel an ambulance, which resulted in someone’s death”. First of all you weren’t there. Second of all Helen wasn’t evan in work that day. As someone who was there at the time this happened I can assure what you’ve said is incorrect and I can assure you I have the care and respect for the residents I look after, to whistleblow myself if anything untowards was going on. People write bad reviews to slate the management because they don’t get their own way but are quick to state all care employees are amazing. This is a total contradiction if we are walking around a nursing home knowing people aren’t being cared for properly. I’ve worked here for nearly 2 years. All staff and management have always been supportive no matter what I’ve had going on in my life. We are a team and we all get along together to make sure residents are cared for like they should be and as often as we can make sure they have a smile on there face. If you can’t get along with the team, don’t be bitter and make stuff up. Move on and find a job where you do. Oh and cqc rating is still good , after their investigation , because again of malicious lies.

In my 4 years at the Warberries I have watched it go through many changes, yet the residents have always come first. Through snowdays and Covid the team has pulled together to provide excellent care. I am saddened to read that some former employees have taken to name calling in public. That shows me that you were not meant to be part of our team - there is no I in team . ( Well, that isn't strictly true - it is right there in the 'A' - hole.)Regarding training - it is all provided and staff are encouraged to study further if they wish. I have been supported in my Dementia studies, and was even accommodated with the 6 weeks leave I needed for my Fellowship travels. The Home's intergenerational project has just won a national award too.Sure, it isn't all sweetness and light - what job in care is? Some days are really hard, but we all work hard to make sure that our residents come first, whatever other hurdles are thrown in our path.As for the post re foreign nurses : I have a good idea who this was, and if you start every sentence with 'in my country we......' you will soon upset people. YOU needed to realise that things are done differently here in the UKAll in all I am proud to say I am part of the Warberries family

All the staff at the Warberries Nursing Home Torquay are amazing people, right through from the housekeeping, chefs, carers and management. My dad passed away recently in their home. They were an amazing support to me and my father and have nursed him for years. They are so knowledgeable, kind, caring and nothing was too much trouble. They showed me such kindness, took time to talk to me and my dad, which was a real comfort to us both. They gave me food, drink and even a bed for the night in a lovely room in those last days. Forever grateful to them all. ❤❤❤❤❤

Having been a part of Warberries for many years, I know that the Residents are well looked after and it would be difficult to find a more caring team of people. A dementia environment is a challenging one and I think the team deliver a high standard of care and professionalism, whilst still making Warberries feels like a family. They are kind, compassionate people who work here and have always gone the extra mile to support not only Residents, but staff at all levels too. I have been amazed at the passion and drive of everyone here during such a difficult time as this Covid-19 Pandemic; where they have succeeded in having no cases thus far.
