Having kept a boat in Brightlingsea for many years, we have now, with regret left for waters new. Will miss the town and the many friends we have met there. The professional services we have used for boat maintenance and storage have been great as indeed have many of the pubs and restaurants we have enjoyed. Our decision to leave has entirely been down to the poor communication and attitude we feel have we received from the harbour management. The harbour office customer service, in general, we have found year on year becoming increasingly poor.We have found more and more frequently the senior management and their representatives aloof and indifferent. This is in a big contrast to the service received from the harbour staff who do the real work"

A great place at any time of the year with lots going on! In fact, just last weekend was the yearly Regatta. Otherwise, during the summer months, you can stop by and grab ice creams or fish and chips, or even fresh fish too! Just to the right and up some steps there are a few restaurants and a bit further back, almost opposite the fish and chip shop there is a friendly pub too! Also, at the end of the jetty there is a little ferry (runs from about April to about October) that can take you to other local places; Mersea, Rowhedge, Point Clear and Wivenhoe as well. Finally, beware of the spring and autumn tides, they can be very high.

Not a lot to see at this arena. Good place to go crabbing after midday. There's a little Nisa shop that sells crabbing things. Theres a local pub and small fish and chip shop.

Brightlingsea is a quiet sea side place and has a very actively run harbour, which concentrates on all forms of water sports. It has a very successful marina and boat centre run by the harbour and is supported by three clubs and various restaurants and pubs.

Beautiful place!! We love love love Brightlingsea every part of it & so do the kids.On a hot day the Lido is a must & crabbing is always fantastic guaranteed loads of crabs from the jetty. The park this year has had a superb refurbishment and the kids spent hours playing on it.Love the little safe beach area for the kids to splash around in and then we usually grab and icecream.
