Homes for Students Abode

It's been a pleasant experience living at Abode. The team is warm, approachable and quite helpful. Any time there was a concern regarding water in the bathroom or something broken in the kitchen, they were quick to respond and get the work done. The gym is small but functional. And my friends and I have enjoyed spending many evenings playing different board games or snooker or just relaxing in the common room. I also like the location as it's close to university, city centre and all grocery shops.

I’m a ysj student and lived in abode for year and a bit and I love it!! The staff are amazing so helpful and friendly, the facilities and rooms are great and it’s in a good location.

Great central location. Close to anything you need: shops, bars, places to work, transport links.Room sizes are a bit bigger than others priced at the same level. Can't really reorganise as most of the furniture are fixed in place if you're into that but they have decent quality facilities such as the ensuite. Rooms have thinner walls but this is standard for most student accommodation. Kitchens are of decent quality too, alright storage space too. They also have decent sitting space and a TV if you want that sort of thing. Also competitively priced compared to Uni Of York accom and has more facilities (free gym, etc).Staff are friendly and make sure any issues are sorted out as fast as they can.

Great student accommodation. In the best place to get into the center quickly. Julie, Joy and Annabelle are amazing, welcoming and so friendly. Always up for a chat and get problems sorted asap.

The best student accommodation in York. I used to live here in 2020-2021, and I was impressed by the excellent location, good facilities, and helpful staff. So I still chose the Home for Students after I moved to Scotland. Thanks to Joy, Annabelle, Julie, Lee et al.

Coming to the end of my three years at Abode. There’s a reason i’ve stayed here all that time! I feel safe on site, the staff are friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The activities put on in the accommodation social spaces are fun and creative and allow you to meet new people. The location is perfect, nothing you need is more than a 10 minute walk. The site is clean and well looked after and any issues are resolved quickly and professionally by a fantastic maintenance man! I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking at studying in York and I will miss it a lot when I leave.

It's a pretty good student accomodation, not the best in terms of space or temperature in the summer (it gets very hot). But since uni is mostly in the winter it works. Price is pretty good compared to other private accommodations. Location is probably the best benefit as its inside the walls and just a 5 minute walk from town.

Have been here for the past 2 years and have booked to stay for my third year. The rooms are comfortable, the site is secure and in a good location for everything you need. Staff are always very welcoming and resolve the issues quickly. i would definitely recommend Abode for anyone who is looking for student accommodation in york
