Nice sunny day, had a few other visitors but not too busy and great all round views. Quite easy to get to from the roadside parking , through a coupleof fieldswith cows and over a stile. No amenities .

Nice place for a day out with the family. Lots of climbers there, which was fun to watch, and plenty of rocks to scramble up for those who don't have serious climbing skills! Lovely views from the top for miles around.

As the sun begins its descent behind Almscliffe Crag, the rugged silhouette of the ancient rock formation transforms into a canvas of warm hues. A symphony of oranges, pinks, and purples paints the sky, casting a soft glow on the surrounding landscape. The crag's jagged edges create captivating shadows that dance with the fading light. As the day bids adieu, Almscliffe Crag stands as a stoic sentinel, bathed in the rich palette of a picturesque sunset, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to witness the magical spectacle.

A very lovely place for sunsets and sunrises. Short but medium intensity hike. Very little parking with tight farm roads to get there. Would recommend a blanket with a few snacks while you watch the sun set and a few rock climbers here and there.

Locally you cannot get a better view point. From the top is a lovely 360 degree view. Worth the climb. A good place to learn to rock climb too

Interesting rock formation. Unfortunately it was misty when I visited so didn’t get to see the full views. What I could see hinted at being able to have a scenic 360 panoramic view on a clear day. There were quite a few cows on the footpath between the carpark and the Crag top. They didn’t seem bothered by me when I walked past them.
