Although parking was difficult to find, you won't regret stopping off at Burton-on-the-water to take a leisurely stroll along the River Windrush.The houses and town are picturesque and, although the water is quite shallow, it looks beautiful.The numerous cute ducks here mostly sit stationary while the water flows past them, but they also do this weird walk/swim combo to get around that is absolutely adorable.

The last time I visited here was as a child with family and it was lovely back then. Glad it’s retained it’s beauty and clean water. Lots of people enjoying the river and resting by the waterside.

River windrush is a must visit place in summer and you can have lots of fun with family and kids. Walk paths are very romantic. Lots of shops selling ice cream and other bakery items. Full day can be spend easily.

Beautiful spot for a walk past the lovely Cotswold houses and picturesque low arch bridges. Lots of amusement to be found watching the ducks coming in the land on the river and taking off from the water. Was extremely busy in summer with lots of people in and around the river, so would recommend visiting out of season if you prefer a more tranquil atmosphere.
