Heath Cottage Hotel

We stayed here for one night, rooms were neat and clean. We enjoyed the outdoor terrace with a drink and had a nice dinner. Breakfast was also very well. The friendly staff was giving their best. Allin all it was way above our expectations. The only minor disadvantage I can think of is that the hotel is situated at a pretty busy road, so some traffic noise is to be expected.

Small room but very clean, bed was a little soft for me. Wall seem thin as I could her other resident users coughing and talking.Some road noise if window left open but hotel is on major road.Beer pumps at time where being reinstalled or fixed so no beer available on the pumps.Menu looked good ( A la carte ) however I did not sample. Staff friendlyI may try again when working in the area. Just being honest and not detrimental.

Stayed in a single room which was small but clean and had wardrobe, desk, chair and TV. There was a walk-in shower in the bathroom and complementary toiletries. I ordered a cooked breakfast (£12) which seemed a bit expensive but it was well-cooked, plentiful and delicious and therefore worth it. As far as I could work out there is no lift in the hotel. The hotel seemed quiet (stayed on a Friday night) and I would probably book again, although it wouldn't be my first choice.

Do not book a wedding here. I had mine there last weekend and although the day was perfect by organising everything myself the whole experience was horrendous. Had 3 wedding planners from December 2022 to July 23. No communication between staff or myself and the night before the wedding the 5 rooms I booked for guests were given to other guests. The bridal suite also smelt of sewage. The price is also expensive for what you get. Promised extras for being messed around but never got anything just bad attitude.

ComplaintIt all started on a random phone call to asking if we were dining with you. I advised we were going out and the person was quite rude, instead of saying okay no problem we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive I was greated with an abrupt right okay and the phone was put down.We arrived and was greated by a plastic chair thrown on the grass under the sign for the hotel. We parked up and on walking towards the door was met by a broken handle and a plant pot base full of cigarette butt's floating in water. We came in and was met by a man on reception who stunk of BO. He gave us the key for the room. On walking upstairs we noticed a unkept smell masked by cheap air freshners, the floors were dirty and around the stair banisters was a layer of dirt and dust the place hadn't been cleaned properly for a while.We went into the room and it was dated, marks all over the walls, a rotten bath panel, food stains on the leather chair, bed side tables and stains on carpet and bed clothes. We thought we would grim and bare it but then thought no this can't be right the reviews say how great the place is (on hind sight, these must be fake reviews). So asked to be changed rooms.We were given the keys to a room on the top floor room 22 I believe. Again this room was dirty, stains on the floors and bed covers, a dried on bogey. Food stains left on the leather sofa, the bed valance was marked and dirty, floor stained, kettle dirty, shower unclean, shower head black and filthy. I tried opening the widows two nearly fell off the hinges and then wouldn't shut properly. This is extremely dangrous and a massive heath and safety breach.We came across from York to meet a friend so met him for dinner got back to the hotel round 9ish which is locked at night so had to let ourselves in, we decided there was no way we could sleep in such a dirty, uncared for establishment. With no one to be found we got our bags and left. I left the key on the shut up reception area.We then had a 4.5 hour drive home not arriving home till 2am in the morning with a very tired 9 year old.I am requesting a full refund as this was a completely disgraceful experience.

We went here with our club for Christmas meal, a lovely place with lots of parking, food was spot on friendly staff lots room for everyone to move around. Thanks for everything wheelchairs welcome

visited here from wales. stayed here from 29th aug until 4th September , really nice room , nice location , loved the food. all staff really nice and couldn't do enough to help you. loved staying here and will be back again! friendly gentleman at the front desk. great chef who made lovely food. friendly girls working in the restaurant also. all very professional 5 stars review

Nice hotel friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. The only down side was no cooked breakfast on Sunday mornings and the continental was not that great.

I stayed for one night this week for a short work trip.Christine on the front desk was very welcoming and made myself and my colleague feel at home right away!The room was tidy and had everything you needed; hair dryer, tea, coffee, biscuits, dressing table etc.I was super excited to see I had a bath in my room as you don’t get this much nowadays!We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was super fresh and beautiful presented. The fish and chips was beautiful! The prices in the restaurant were also surprisingly good! With 3 courses for under £21!I have booked again to stay next week for work so I shall look forward to my stay!
