A Better Garden

I can’t speak highly enough about Finn! He (and Scott) spent 4 weeks this summer transforming our back garden from tarmac/marshy lawn to a contemporary, beautifully paved, peaceful haven with a stunning cedar fence and matching gates (made by him). His attention to detail and finishes are second to none. We are incredibly pleased with the outcome. We were very impressed with Finn’s work ethic and professionalism. Finn was on the job every day, as agreed, and 100% reliable. He worked with us to come up with a final design and was very accommodating when we asked for changes as the project went on. He is easy to talk to, willing to give advice and we never felt pressured to accept anything we weren’t happy with. We had to book Finn 12 months in advance, but kept in touch periodically before the project start. Shortly before his start date, he put us in touch with several previous clients who we visited to view his work. Highly recommended!!

What a total garden transformation! Finn and Scott had to clear out the existing gardens in order to create beautiful new zones - including outdoor dining and tiered living spaces and a practical utility zone. Their professionalism and expertise in a wide variety of aspects including porcelain paving, masonry, building walls, drainage and turf lawns, fences, gates, hedges, water feature and lighting was to the highest standards- you could tell they took real pride in delivering an exceptional outcome in all areas. Finn’s attention to detail - even sourcing new bricks to complement our discontinued driveway bricks because aesthetically he knew it would look even better. Finn and Scott were friendly, self sufficient, punctual and reliable- both had an amazing work ethic in all weathers. Every day they cleaned up before they left. They have exceeded our expectations not only with how the gardens have turned out, but in how they worked and communicated with us. Finn and Scott have just completed an extensive transformation of our very tired looking garden. Finn advised us as to what would work well from our basic ideas and we are very pleased with the end result. They are very neat and methodical workers and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I was recommended Finn to lay some porcelain paving. He was approachable and professional. Although we had to wait for Finn as he was fully booked he came highly recommended. Finn is meticulous in his work and was flexible when we wanted to make changes to what we had originally agreed. We are more than happy with the finished work and I would having no problem recommending him.

Finn designed and laid a sandstone patio for us including drainage in 2016, 3 years later it's still as good as the day it went down. Finn was a great price and did great work with no issue too big to overcome! Have highly recommended him to family and friends.

Finn was quick to give us a quote and done an excellent job of our fencing. He was quick to get us fitted in and was even able to get the last bit of fencing done ahead of time. Great job and really happy with the quality of work carried out.

Finn took my landscaping ideas and interpreted them to create a complete garden transformation. This required clearing the existing tired garden of trees, shrubs and hedging together with almost 100 tons of material in order to create a level garden area. Finn and Scott installed drainage, new fencing, two extensive patio areas connected with pathways using Indian sandstone. Finn designed and built a pergola and installed lighting around the perimeter of the garden. To complete the job they installed a new turfed lawn and planted some 70 new trees and shrubs in the newly raised beds created using Secure Lite walling. Finn and Scott were totally professional, hard working, considerate, tidy and the quality of their work was fantastic throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending 'A Better Garden'. Finbar and Scott recently finished our garden in whitehead: wasn’t a huge job but a big deal for us. A thorough and top class job in all respects. Finish beautiful and all the falls and drainage just 100%.There’s a lot of cowboys out there but Finbar is the opposite - honest, professional and takes care of all the wee details that make a good job into a great one. Don’t go with anyone else!
