I love the atmosphere here... my favourite person is Ben.Usually the food it perfect. Today however I can only conclude its either a trainee chef in the kitchen or the usual chef is having a really bad hair day, oil was probably way to hot and old oil...which could be tasted in the food.Starters of Crumbed Mushrooms with garlic mayo... had to ask for the garlic mayo..no schwet, minor issue, the shrooms however were rock hard...I did not know you could turn a shroom into a stone...apparently today's chef knows just how, the fork wouldn't even penetrate the crumbed shrooms which bounced off my plate. The crumbed chicken strips crumbs were equally hard. Inside was dry and hard and tasteless. They are usually juicy and you are nit at risk of busting a tooth.Steak and Ale Pie saved the day.. the pastry was divine, contents were succulent with a nice thick gravy. The peas and accompanying chips however were awful...definitely heated up in the microwave... The onion rings should not have been plated and sent out, very evident they were cooked in old oil. Overcooked and ice cold.Cowboy burger was perfect, accompanying chips were ice cold and rock hard.Chef was definitely not on top form today.

Went on a bad day as it was Halloween and full of kids. Not very well set out for groups so made our friends retirement party a little squashed.

Only downside is the noise, its EXCELLENT for a family friendly pub/restaurant but not the place if you want a quiet eaterie etc.My recomendation....Scampi & chips, top notch grub!

Family birthday lunch . Good service from helpful friendly staff.Good food,I had the cod which was excellent.The prices are competitive and the menu offers a good variety.

While the lunch dishes were delicious, the sticky tables were a major issue. They were incredibly sticky to the point where you could stick to them like a flea to a trap, and it was not an exaggeration. When I asked for assistance, the waiter quickly wiped only half of the table with a single swipe and left, not bothering to thoroughly clean the surface. It was clear that the staff neglected to address this problem, as the same issue persisted regardless of where we sat in the restaurant. This lack of attention to cleanliness was particularly concerning, especially when dining with children. A dining establishment should be a clean and hygienic place where you can enjoy your meal comfortably, but unfortunately, this was not the case here.Moreover, the dinner pizza was undercooked and the veggies soggy. The inconsistency in service, like not allowing freshly squeezed juice for certain orders, was also frustrating. Overall, we won't return or recommend this place.

I had the vegan chickpea and cauliflower curry it was delicious. They exchanged the naan for chips because the naan wasn't vegan.For afters I had the chocolate tart with plant based ice-cream. No plant based milk but luckily I'd taken my own just incase it wasn't provided for a cuppa.

Honestly one of the worst steaks I ever had, was bland with no seasoning, kids food was dry and didn't look appealing even to them. Was told not to go on other people's opinions but I always like tomorrow to have my own. would not recommend to anyone

Food not up to normal standard, went in for late tea. Waiting at bar for a while before 2 young ladies came from behind the bar area where we saw them laughing and joking. Not good when can be seen by general public, 6 people Waiting at bar.
