Heathwood Swimming & Triathlon

As a novice triathlete who had so far swam alone, I booked a 1-2-1 session with Dave with the aim of having a better understanding of my swim technique, what I was doing ’wrong’ and how I could improve. It was clear within the first 5 minutes that Dave is very experienced and has a deep base of knowledge in his field. Dave identified multiple technical fixes, but broke them down and explained them in small, clear, easy to understand chunks of information. We took our time to implement one thing at a time, and Dave had a lot of expert tips and cues which I found very helpful. The location is set up great, well equipped and I received a very warm welcome. Would highly recommend to a friend, any of my physio clients and will be back again when my time allows!

Dave is super-patient and never gives in... his tuition is so clear, and based on being a super-successful competitive swimmer AND the mechanics/physics of moving water - so it always makes sense. My daughter Katie has been having sessions with Matt to improve her technique to help her with her triathlons. She has really enjoyed the sessions and Matt has been great at breaking things down and taking the time to explain and showing videos. This has made it easier for Katie to improve and a good sign is she looks forward to the sessions wondering what she is going to learn. She can already see the improvements.

Had five lessons with Matt this year to improve technique in order to improve my distance. It made a big difference in my confidence. Swimming feels a lot more effortless now, The facility is excellent, he breaks down each move and sends video feedback. Doesn’t overload you with changes, works on a few changes each session. I will book another set of five this winter to keep me motivated. I have already booked a 4k swim for next summer (started with a 750m swim last summer).

Went to Heathwood Swimming after swimming for 6 months as a triathlete and progress stagnated. Dave listened then critiqued my technique and within the hour session I was swimming more smoothly. Some great drills and pointers to go away with. Well worth the time and money would recommend. Definitely be booking again.

I went to Dave as I wanted to be able to open water swim when on holidays. Between him and Matt I can now not only swim recreationally but have started to compete in triathlons and have just completed my first Ironman 70.3 within 12 months of starting! Cannot recommend Dave and his coaches enough!

Matt and Dave are first class coaches. Only two sessions in and seeing a massive improvement in form and technique. Matt is very knowledgeable, methodical and great at explaining the required techniques and drills. Every confidence in his ability to get me ready for Long Course Wales next year.

Really enjoyed my first session at Heathwood swimming! Awesome facilities and I learnt so much! Coaches are friendly and very knowledgeable! Can’t wait to go back and continue improving my swimming.
