I asked Rob to do quite an odd job - significantly lower a pair of high heels so I could actually walk in them! I was nervous about the height of those shoes + how insecure my ankles felt in the platform. Rob turned this around in less than a day while keeping the integrity of the shoe and also the iconic red soles for me. Overall, I'm really pleased with how they turned out and look forward to actually being able to wear my shoes!

You will be getting more than you asked for, along with a very fair price, and great advice.My old boots are in a better condition now than when I bought them from a store. They look like new. Robert just finished working on a pair of trainers that didn’t cost me much when I first bought. They lasted less than 3 months and instead of buying a new pair, I decided it’d be worth the investment to get them fixed properly so that they’d last a lot longer and because I love them so much!Every shoe repairer I went to didn’t even want to bother with the job, but not Robert.He carefully inspected the trainers and went through the process with me. He was sceptical at first but that didn’t stop him from trying!Needless to say the odds were in my favour and with the old soles, very carefully removed, Robert was able to repair my trainers to an even better state than they were when I bought them.I don’t know any other shoe repairer like him. As the reviews have rightly stated, he is an artisan passionate about his work and wonderful with his customers.For any repairs, I’d gladly recommend him. He’s worth the 1hr and 30min trip I take for the best job in town.Thank you Robert!

I could not give this glowing review fast enough!! I spilled paint & tried to repair my Blundstones on my own (should have just gone to Merrifield’s first) and without charge Rob tidied them up and looked brand new. Magic!!

My experience at Merrifields was just amazing !! My favourite pair of leather boots had been chewed up by some very cheeky foxes, and I thought I would have to throw them out , but I brought them into Merrifields and we spoke extensively about my different options - was so helpful to talk through this process and understand what could be done (I'd taken them elsewhere previously and they said they couldnt do anything ?!). In the end, we decided to put a patch in where the chewed up parts where and honestly the results are phenomenal, the shoes literally look brand new and you'd never be able to tell. The workmanship is so impressive and I'm so so happy that my shoes are fixed and better than ever (as I also had a new sole put on). So incredibly happy and can't recommend enough. If you have any shoe problems , go to Merrifields, they will sort you out !!!

Just got back from Merrifields and SOOOOOOO happy I found Rob as he was able to fix the problem I had with my boots, which I was about to throw away. Basically, the heel was too high (design flaw) and he was able to diagnose the problem and fix it within about 15 minutes. I tried them on and he was absolutely right. I didn't realise he was also trained in Orthopaedics (have I got that right, Rob?) or something like that which was super helpful as he was able to talk me through what was happening with my foot and why it was so uncomfortable when wearing the boots. I took these boots to another cobblers in Balham (SW London) and he said that there was nothing he could do.Thank you, Rob! You're a superstar!

Rob always does an amazing job with anything that I bring to him. I worked in Liberty menswear department for a number of years, and tend to be very particular about my clothes and shoes. With that in mind, it speaks to Rob's skill and attention to detail that I trust Rob implicitly when it comes to working on my shoes and boots. On top of the above, the shop is a beautiful space, warm and inviting. Rob himself is kind and patient while I describe my various shoe woes, and always takes time to understand the brief and explain his take on the best way forwards. A very easy 5/5 for me!

Rob is a very friendly, down to earth guy, I went to get my belt resized and he did a perfect job within five minutes. Hands down the best in the area, recommend highly.

Thanks to Rob’s expertise in leather crafting and ingenuity our treasured Rocking Horse is restored and ready to delight the next generation of our family! In addition to fitting new leather ears and a beautiful bespoke bridle and reins, Rob performed some tricky dental surgery on it to safeguard its future. He also thoughtfully suggested lining the rockers with leather to prevent over enthusiastic riders damaging polished wooden floors. A lovely experience from start to finish. Thank you so much for a great job! Our nephews were delighted to see their old playmate in such good condition and looking forward to meeting their own young children.
