It's a shame as it seems from reviews that this used to be a 5 * country retreat. I stayed here with 14 friends for a Birthday getaway.The Pros: Lovely house, ample bedrooms. Expansive grounds which are free to roam.The Cons: Unfortunately a lot of the advertised features were simply not provided. The AGA was not working, the Hot Tubs which are so heavily advertised were not allowed to be switched on"

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with lovely walks, this is the place to stay. Stayed in the one bed annexe, which had a nice cosy feel to it. Coastal towns not to far neither.

This is a massive property, which worked well for our group of mountain bikers. The grounds are extensive with beautiful views.The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of crockery, however it is in a tired state e.g. wooden draining board falling apart. The cooking facilities are a bit limited if cooking meals for 11 people. The bedrooms are mostly large with comfortable beds. Some of the bathrooms are a bit dated and have loose fittings. Many of the windows are hard / impossible to open and some quite rotten. Some of the rooms smell musty. Very good WiFi but no mobile signal.There was no washing line.

Fabulous country house, beautiful rooms, stunning kitchen! Brilliant place for a family get together. Great place for walking, exploring Lynton, Lynmouth and the Exmoor national park. We will 100% be back for more :)
