Royal Mail - Gatwick Mail Centre

This is the second time I have ordered something from a company that uses Royal Mail and the Gatwick Depot as a drop-off point. Both times, my item was sent using the Tracked 24 service. However, the last time I ordered, the parcel sat at the Gatwick Depot for seven days before it was finally on the move. Unfortunately, the same situation has occurred again, and my tracking shows that my item has been stuck there for three days. I believe Ofcom should intervene and impose a significant fine on this company. Such a fine will teach them a lesson and encourage them to improve their standards by hiring more people, instead of focusing solely on saving money. I am very disappointed with their service, and even Every, a competitor company, is now better than Royal Mail.

Two parcels haven't arrived, one is 24 hour tracked and the other is 48 hour tracked, It has been about two weeks now. I have worked at Gatwick Mail Centre during the Christmas period as a casual worker. While I was there, full time Royal Mail staff were caught in the toilets opening peoples mail. I wouldn't be surprised if my parcels have been stolen.

Seems like everyone else. My parcel was supposed to be delivered last wed 6th Dec .But instead went back to gatwick. And this is where it says it is still. A week later on my tracker.Yet after many attempts of ringing. I finally get an answer saying, the parcel has gone back to my hometown post office..which it hasnt as i rang them also.Still its showing its at gatwick. Im suspicious whats going on.Customer services were not helpful.So now im having to take it further up the line. For an investigation.Im shocked however with the royal mail. If you cant trust them to deliver..who can you trust.A terrible service all round.

Potentially the worst customer service I’ve received from any company ever. Your package will be lost/stolen at this mail centre.

Now sat at 9 days waiting for my 48hr tracked delivery parcel to move from here.It was dispatched quickly by the vendor, transferred to Gatwick same day... and has sat there since.It's fairly expensive health related supplies that I need, and I'm now at the point where I have to think about either forking out for an alternative supply and being overstocked if these actually arrive, or getting my purchase refunded and buying some elsewhere, which annoys me as the vendor has done nothing wrong & they will lose out.When I have to send parcels, it definitely won't be with Royal Mail.

Try ringing no one picked phone up and the parcel was very late she posted it on 24 November 2023 never got till 7th Dec 2023 not very happy with royal mail

Like many others on this thread, a Tracked 48 item has ground to a halt at Gatwick MC and considered lost. Was a special item I'd ordered, and the same thing happened last year with a package I ordered for a birthday. Shambles - not really Tracked" as they mysteriously disappear at this depot."

Waiting more then two weeks and the parcel i order on ebay it s been missing and on the tracking shows it on the Gatwick hub!!!no answer on any phone numbers!!!

I hate leaving bad reviews but it's just time after time after time that the Royal Mail fails to deliver. I ordered an Amazon prime next day delivery on friday that I needed for today. It is now Sunday, and I've been informed by customer service (who were very nice and professional I must add) that it may be delivered anywhere from tomorrow to two Tuesdays time. I don't understand how this is acceptable. I've had special birthday items take weeks after the expected delivery date to arrive despite paying for speedy delivery, credit cards lost in the post ether and other replacements taking over a week to arrive. Tracking often shows 24-hour and first class packages are just stuck for days on end here. It's just not okay, and I'm so disappointed with the service. If I had known this item was delivered by royal mail I would have sought the item elsewhere. I will make sure to check in future.

Parcel was meant to be delivered last week, given a three hour timeslot and it didn't arrive. Trying to talk to customer service was useless, they had no reason for why it was still at this depot. Finally recieved it 5 days later and the reason it had been delayed is because someone at the depot decided to open it to see if it was worth stealing! And the only apology is it arriving in a bag saying 'sorry for the condition of the packaging when the seal on the box has very clearly been opened on purpose
