New Star

1st time we have used New Star, & we were not disappointed. The food arrived early & hot. No grease or fat in my pork dish. The rice was proper egg fried rice & the mini spring rolls, were perfectly cooked, & not a spot of grease on the bag they came in. Really pleased, thank you very much. Will definitely use you again.

If you are content with mediocre, imitation Chinese food then I suggest you go to the Tesco next door as this place doesn’t even come close. The vegetables were slimy and unauthentic and noodles flavourless. However, the positive is the containers are a good size so useful for lunch boxes.

First time used them and sadly this was a very disappointing takeaway. Everything was so greasy. Sweet and sour batter was undercooked/doughy in the middle, inedible. Very greasy meal and not tasty, would not recommend.

I hate having to give a bad review, but obviously as a Local Google Guide, I believe truthful feedback is vital, to improving services too. They were about to close early, the Indian next door was closed, and my friend wanted some food. So as I approached the door, the kind young man, offered to cook my meal, especially as it was my birthday too.We had a nice chat, lovely man, great customer service, knows some of my Chinese friends too. However, unfortunately the food, wasn't up to the same standard. I had Cantonese Prawn, but it just wasn't nice. The sauce was very sweet, totally different to any of the others I've ever tasted. Prawns were OK. The chips my friend had, were old and stale. Even the curry sauce, wasn't very nice. Far too salty. If I didn't care, I wouldn't bother writing a review, but if he gets to hear his feedback, and he's such a nice man, he may actually improve his cooking. And obviously the business, will follow too. As unfortunately, many of the locals, are all staying the same thing. Some of whome live further away, and your reputation proceeds you, my friend. So please take stock, of what people are saying, and relaying, and my intentions are good, even though they may sound horrible.

Best family run takeaway in the area. Always friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended

Stepped inside early on a quiet Thursday, to be greeted by a flapping arm from behind the half-mirrored kitchen door. I presume this was meant to mean that someone would be with me in a minute? So I waited a minute... then another minute... then another, all the while watching a shambles in the kitchen with one frantic man doing a lot and one woman doing very little, while the man shrieked and shouted... then another minute, and another... then I left (accompanied by more bizarre arm-flapping) and went to the Indian takeaway next door, where they were very nice. If I hadn't been hungry, it might have been funny. Probably best avoided unless you like having an arm flapped at you.

Excellent food!!! I highly recommend New Star.The king prawn curry sauce was delicious, prawns cooked perfectly and everything was very hot and fresh. Chips were crispy and delicious.Service was also fantastic, very friendly and polite.Thankyou, we will be returning!

Piping hot tasty, staff are brilliant will definitely return.
