Following an household insurance claim for a damaged dining table We were contacted by Belfor by letter, dated 26th October 2015. This letter advised us that they would be attending our property and carrying out works and that we were to pay them a £125 policy excess either directly to the technician by cheque or by directly sending payment to their head office.A self employed french polisher visited us on 4th November, he photographed the table and declared it unrepairable. We offered him the cheque and he said he had been instructed not to take it.Yesterday we received a second letter from Belfor dated 4th November stating that following them attending our property and carrying out works we have been instructed by your insurance company to collect the £125 policy excess, and then in bold type that this was their second request for payment and in order tocontinue with our claim they URGENTLY required paying.I phoned Belfor this morning and complained about their snotty letter and then found out that that we no longer needed to pay them the excess. They did offer me a grudging apology but I was still annoyed when I put the phone down, hence the two star rating.Could try a lot harder with their customer service skills!

Never use this company. They were appointed by my insurance company. 4 weeks after their first visit and no written report has been produced, no work has been able to take place in this time and, meanwhile, my property is sitting empty and deteriorating due to water damage. Terrible communication, given new deadlines every time I call. We are now having to use a different company. Have lost time and money.

Just had phone call from very abrupt and rude advisor. Tried to explain that damage had already been assessed and dehumidifiers installed and removed and did not want to waste their time or mine by being duplicated. She brushed me off and said if I didn’t want their services she would just cancel arranged visit! Not customer friendly in slightest! Will be putting in formal complaint.
