Joanna is an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate teacher. Having done a day experience tuition, I couldn't recommend her highly enough. She took me through the basics, shared little nuggets of wisdom... Always made sure that I had the opportunity to practice what she so skillfully demonstrated, and was always passionate about her craft. It made the day fly by!

I first met Joanna at a mobile blacksmith day at the Royal West of England Academy where she displayed her work. I was so impressed with her work that I immediately wanted learn more about her craft and her take on it. I booked an experience day and after a delay due to covid we eventually got to carry out the day which was amazing. Joanna is a gem, putting a modern artistic twist on traditional iron work and blacksmithing and she teaches with real passion and is able to transfer her knowledge in a relaxed, fun and flexible manner. I left the course with a thirst for more and hopefully will work with her in her forge on a commission for my new house.

This was a great experience day. I learned how to use the forge and practice various techniques for working with steel. By the end of the day I'd made 3 items. Safety precautions for working with fire and hot metal were well covered. Joanna is a very experienced blacksmith and teacher. She produces a lot of beautiful designs and cares about getting a good finish on the objects produced.

Highly recommended. The blacksmith experience day here is great, it's really well led with just the right amount of guidance and help. I came away with some pieces I'm really proud of that will make great presents themselves.

Had a great day learning the basics of blacksmithing with Joanna - I've no prior experience in the field at all, but still came home with a bunch of useful tools I'd forged! Joanna is friendly, and a patient teacher to boot. Highly recommend

I was given a Blacksmith Experience Day as a gift and I had a fantastic day. Joanna is an excellent tutor who clearly explained the various skills and techniques required through demonstrations, but then importantly allowed me to learn by completing the tasks myself. I was amazed at what I achieved during the day, and left feeling very happy (and very tired). Joanna worked really hard to ensure I enjoyed the day, and I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone who wants to give blacksmithing a try.

This was a wonderful birthday for my big 3-0 from my partner! I've never done any metal work before so wasn't entirely sure what to expect but it was such a brilliant day! Joanna was brilliant at explaining the steps, doing practical demos and then giving helpful guidance when it was my go to get stuck in. I was really proud of the hooks & handles I made and I cannot wait to put up around the house as a nice reminder of my day! Joanna is super talented as both a blacksmith and a teacher (a rare, but excellent combination of skills!) I cannot recommend this course enough!

I received the blacksmith day as a birthday gift and I somewhat apprehensive on arrival. Turns out my worries were totaly unfounded. Not only did I find Joanna to be a phenomenally skilled blacksmith but she is also a talented and gifted teacher. Her methodical, patient approach led to me leaving with items I made that I can be truly proud of (rather than hidding in a drawer!). I learnt so much in just one day. I would highly recomend the course, not only did I get to try out a number of techniques but I also came away really understanding and appriciating the skills of someone gifted in their craft.
