A big thanks to Tez at (Terrence Cudworth Joinery)We have a mid 1930’s detached house which still has the original wooden windows. Due to their age and condition we were recently faced with changing the windows to PVC as all of our neighbours have done over the year’s. The main problem was the that the original windows made the house stand out and was the main reason we purchased the house nearly nine years ago. Over the years we have had many comments from neighbours and passers-by regarding how nice the house looked. We had used a local window company (James Pemberton) when renovating a previous house so we called him again to quote for PVC replacements. Although PVC was not the first solution we wanted to take, it would at least give us an option we could consider. Although James was happy to quote for PVC windows he suggested a local business (Terrence Cudworth Joinery) who could quote for replacement wooden windows. This way we could compare the price of wood verse PVC. One overriding point in this project was the frames were in a fairly good condition so if we went with the wood option we would be able to keep the look of the house.So we called (Terrence Cudworth Joinery) for a quote.Within a few weeks Tez came to see us and immediately we felt comfortable that he could help us to sort out the windows. He suggested numerous options for the type of wood we could have, the best security fittings and options on draft prevention.Throughout the process he kept us informed on progress by sending us photos, for example when the wood arrived at his workshop and as the work to create each individual window panel took place, then as each panel was primed and painted. In addition to the photos Tez came to the house on numerous times to show us examples of the actual windows which was really helpful.The original draft strip which he first suggested was changed, with the replacement being much better.Through conversations with Tez he tended to pick upon on things we mentioned. One example was how I have found painting the panels while they are in place, and also the fixed panels. Tez came up with brilliant idea. So I could easily paint the windows, all I need to do is remove the panels (which takes seconds) from the frames (including the fixed panels) paint the frames and replace the panels. I’ve already tried it out on one of the windows above the garage and it works a treat. It’s so quick.The installation was completed in April 2023 during some very cold and sometimes damp weather and as each window was completed you really could tell how drafty the old panels were. On windy days we have checked for drafts and all has been OK.Overall we have been very happy with the service we received from Tez at (Terrence Cudworth Joinery) for our new window panels and all the advice he has given us over the course of the project and we would definitely recommend him.Steve & Anne Evans

Proper customer service, polite and helpful. We dropped in to get two sections of worktop shortened this was done quickly and for a fair price.
