Banya No.1 - Chiswick

We were happy to be their customers. The staff were very attentive and clearly experienced in their field. They even extended our time slot to let us finish our food. The crayfish were particularly scrumptious, I recommend them to anyone visiting the banya.Overall, a lovely place with great customer service and food.

A host of treats await you at the Banya, as well as great food. It’s a beautiful wood sauna that smells great and the warm parinea treatment is what you need on a winter’s day.

This was a first rate, very relaxing Banya experience. I loved having my own personal booth to relax at, and enjoy the delicious food offered. I had a Palenie as well as a honey salt scrub, and both were very relaxing. Plenty of private lockers and no need to bring a lock. They have flip flops, robes and banya hats available to borrow or purchase, if needed.The Sauna was nice and hot, and if it cooled down, a staff member was available to add water to the stones for more heat. I highly recommend this place for both singles and couples.

Amazing authentic Banya experience, definitely opt in for parenie ritual and try traditional borscht. So good!

What an amazing experience! Never have I done anything like this! but please please please think more about how you communicate the process and how everything works - I was not aware that the therapists were men only - ultimately they were brilliant but as self conscious as I am, I would have liked to have known this and more alarming was having an audience in the parenie - this was excruciating being watched in this way - although the treatment was amazing- I think you could easily add more detail on the website or under each package - that your treatment isn’t a set time and it depends on when the therapist is next free - a bit more guidance and explanation would be perfect - but thank you it was a fabulous treatment and I did feel amazing afterwards although during the time there better communication and guidance would have been appreciated

Got gifted the experience and really enjoyed! The one thing I’d say is that you only get one free carafe/jug of water and it’s important to stay hydrated when using the banya so I think I got pretty dehydrated when wanting to save money. But, would gladly go again!

This experience was the most disappointing. My friend and I booked in as we needed a bit of a boost and we left feeling worse than when we arrived!When we arrived they sat us down in a booth and asked if we wanted to order any food - why would we want to eat heavy food before a treatment? My friend is vegan and I am dairy free and we couldn’t eat anything on the menu anyway.We were yelled at because we weren't wearing our banya hats (when we weren't even inside the Banya yet.. and who knows how clean they were) They also make you bring your own flip flops which I don’t think is the most hygienic -usually spas encourage you to wear their own fresh flip flops so that it is a clean experience for you and everyone else.When we were guided into the sauna by 2 men, we didn’t realise they were giving us the treatment with men in the sauna! We felt very uncomfortable having male therapists without being asked our preference... After the quick banya, they sat us back down at our booth (after a dunk in the cold plunge) we waited probably another hour before the body scrub - shivering with wet hair and sitting in our wet towels..When I finally was told my therapist was ready for my scrub - I was guided in by another man and low and behold he was giving me the scrub! I laid on my front and he pulled down my bikini top - I felt extremely violated.After the scrub he sat me back down at the booth and hadn’t even treated my friend yet, we both looked at each other and said 'let’s leave!'We saw a glass of alcohol in the staff room and I could smell alcohol on my male therapists breathe which was also very unsettling and un professional.What’s worse - when we left, the male therapist actually came into the women's changing room (!) and said we have one more treatment left - we said we know and wanted to leave. We had already been there for 3 hours at this point.Upon leaving, the ladies at reception were shouting at us and extremely rude when they should have asked if we were ok…I was shaking.I’d never recommend going to Banya Chiswick. We got home and saged ourselves immediately and had a shower to cleanse off all of the bad energy. I had a huge headache the next day and had to get a massage at my favourite spa to feel better.

Authentic Russian sauna/banya experience. The staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. Properties are clean and food is delicious, sea buckthorn tea is my favourite :) What I really like is that you are allocated a nice booth so that you don't feel intimidated by others and it never feels overcrowded, although I went on Sunday and Monday.
