The udon came fast but was a little too sweet. I ordered the beef udon and it tasted good but could have used more beef and broth. I liked the add your own toppings section!

This is place is in total shambles.I was used to the one in Liverpool Street, now that’s really well managed.This one is totally random.I went for a tonkotsu udon, the server didn’t have enough pork available in order to make 1 portion.On a Saturday? In a shopping mall? Wow…Then looking at the tray with dumplings and chicken karaage, I noticed ONE single piece of chicken left. So I asked “are you guys replenishing this?” And they suggested me to pay for how many pieces I was going to have, then they’d bring it over.A bit random, but… fine.I’ve ordered a beef udon, which was more onions than beef ( thank God it was a Large size…). I am guessing they were running out of beef.Then the chicken karaage arrived.I tried the 1st piece, found it a bit soft/gummy. Tried the second… and it was similar. So I took fork and knife and opened the third. It was pink-ish. Fine… then I cut and opened the fourth and it was raw ( see pic ).I mean, really?I brought that back to the till and they issued me a refund for that part of my bill and asked whether I wanted more chicken. At that stage I was totally disgusted at the idea and a bit concerned for my health.Grabbed some orange juice and left.Never again. The place looks so random, with cupboards half broken, sticky tables…Quite disappointing so… beware!

I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit here. The decor and atmosphere were nice, the staff were all very kind and helpful and the food was delicious. Ordering was simple and easy and overall I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would recommend.

It's a self service eatery. Long queues at lunch time. Udon is springy, soup is tasty, karaage fleshy. The extra is the runny egg in the soup. And they have sauce buffet counter with extras to add to your udon.

Service was quick as usual however a little disappointed by the size of the chicken and temperature of the foodThe atmosphere is always great though, a quick bite and self help to condiments is a plus

Marukame Udon's Beef Nikutama sauce was too sweet and cold. The extra boiled egg I requested was added promptly but still served cold. Ideally, both the beef with sauce and the egg should be warm. I've decided to stop eating my bowl and purchase Tonkatsu back home.Dear Tencho,Thanks for your quick response. I appreciate the correction. The taste was overly salty for me. I noticed it during my first takeaway in the City of London in February 2022, so I ordered two eggs ever since. Thanks for your attention.

What you expect for the price. Quick service and lots of seating. Very causal relaxed atmosphere so great with baby. Udon itself very good although the add -on tempura have gone a bit soft from sitting on the counter. We always come back as it’s an easy cheap meal where staff is helpful.

Extremely disappointed. The udon is very overcooked. We have Beef Nikutama and Pork Tonkotsu, they are both under the value. Don’t waste your money here.The table and self service food table are all messy and disgusting
