Alamo Rent A Car - Birmingham Airport

AN ABSOLUTE SCAM! AVOID!We were told on the day of pick-up that we couldn't rent a car because we live in a flat as opposed to being property owners. This is a ridiculous policy that wasn't made clear beforehand and on that basis they refused to not only rent us a car but also offered no refund. We've never had this problem before when renting a car. You're better off spending a little more money renting a car from a company that is actually reliable. Terrible customer experience!

I hired a car from Alamo car rental company on 22/06/2019 based in Birmingham Airport. I can honestly say that I had the best customer service experience I have ever had , when it comes to hiring a vehicle. I was travelling with my son who is 4 years old and as you can imagine, gets bored very quickly. Whilst I was being served by ‘Ramone’ , the staff team was keeping my little one entertained. Ramone then went out the way to show me around the new vehicle. My service was quick, friendly and professional.It was so good that I hired them again for a further 4 days , when I came back in Birmingham this week to enjoy a family trip.!!Book will Alamo , you won’t regret it !

Absolute worst place to rent a vehicle, they don’t honor reservations as promised. I would advise anyone to check their final bill compare to estimates during reservation. They will no longer have my business

Wasn't properly informed about policies beforehand. Apparently you need to be a house owner to rent a car now and was denied access to the car. They still kept the money so I will definitely ask for a refund. Wouldn't recommend after this experience!

never going to renting a car with alamo as i did not recive the car and still fighting for the deposit six months later

I recently rented a car in Athens international Airport, Greece from alamo. It was only a compact car and we were quoted 217 euros for the car and 8 euros a day for F.D.W. The online quotation although it referred to C.D.W. being required did not specify any value and there was no way to book the insurances online. When I got to the airport the chap at reception quoted me charges of 28 Euro per day additional charges. To cut it short you need to be very careful with Enterprise / alamo. This has happened to me again in a recent trip to the USA where the charges after the original quotation ended up being much much higher to Hertz or Avis which allow you to book your insurances online and you know exactly what you are going to be paying even though the original quotation may appear more expensive. Last time with Enterprise / alamo for me.

Couldn't have been better. Nice little car, quick and efficient pick up and drop off, very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended! :)
