Overall Experience1. Roasted duck - marinated well, would be better if skin is crispier, savoury dish2. Chilli oil chicken - chilli oil is amazing, chicken is tender but has a lot of bones, would prefer it to be a bit more salty3. Beans, potato and aubergine - savoury, aubergine and potato should be caramelised with a crunch layer4. Service - friendly staff5. Serving time - 20 mins6. Affordability - a bit pricy7. Atmosphere - clean

Honestly don’t know where these good reviews are coming from because I had the worse experience ever with this place via Deliveroo. From the service and attitude of the lady over the phone to the most disgusting food ever. I hardly ever get takeaways, I was poorly and decided to get a Chinese, went on Deliveroo saw the good reviews and decided to get this. First of all, food is overpriced for what it is, completely bland and undercooked. I spent £24 and couldn’t even eat any of it, had to chuck all in the bin, even my brother was shocked at how bad it was. I tried explaining to the lady and she wouldn’t even let me speak, just plain rude! The rice was really rock hard and sticky, onions not properly cooked, no salt or flavour nothing. I nearly threw up after trying. They just threw boiled sticky rice and fried egg bland in together and called it egg fried rice. I wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t ever order from here again! Poor service and disgusting food!

I thought it was a Shanghai restaurant, but It was a Canton and Sichuan restaurant. Not bad, very tasty. Service is also quite good. I will be back again if I have the chance.

A decent authentic Chinese place. The food was good, the prices were reasonable and the service was good. The decor is a little scruffy, it isn't as nice as it looks from the outside. The only real downside is that it is 2 minutes walk from U Canteen which is just better. But is you can't get a seat there and want Chinese it's a decent alternative.

We were at this place on two separate nights and the experiecnes have been consistently good. This place specialises in Sichuan and Cantonese food (despite the name :p), I was told at ordering. We ordered mainly Cantonese dishes and they didn't disappoint. The fried ho fen with pork (my husband doesn't eat beef) was especially good - apparently they make their ho fen in house. The stirfried lamb with cumin on both occasions were soooo good - I just hope it could've been of a bigger portion for full satisfaction. :) Aubergine with sea spice sauce and dry stewed fine bean with minced pork were also tasty and worked very well with the generous portion of rice. We didn't like the Kung Po Chicken though - no nuts and it tasted a bit too sweet to our liking. The service was excellent - waitresses so efficient, food served fast, and credit card accepted (for transactions over 10 quids).Overall, we were quite pleased to find this place and will surely go again.

Really disappointing. The portions are so small and overpriced. The honey and pepper prawn comes with 5 pieces of prawn for £13!!! It was all just onion. Absolutely no flavour, just so bad. Go around the corner to ucanteen for good Cantonese food that’s actually worth the price.

Amazing. We initially we had tried to go elsewhere Cantonese, but we were turned away because it closed at 8pm. So we walked up to Shanghai Shanghai. It’s a very plain looking restaurant with a cafe type look. But was full of Chinese people. I think that tells how good it was going to be. We’re so glad we tried it. The food was amazing, service was good, price was what you expect in town. Try the salt and pepper chips. Wow!!!Loved it 10/10
