Leo Johnson dealt with the sale and purchase of my property and did an outstanding job in a relatively short period of time. I can’t recommend him and his company highly enough. He returned calls and dealt with queries professionally and quickly. He actually dealt with two sales, one for the sale of my mums house and one for the sale of my property, she and I were moving from Sunderland to Devon and he dealt with everything including the purchase of the property we bought in Devon. My parents lived in Sunderland & had their Wills done at Hedley’s. After my father had died I had to contact Hedley’s to sort out a minor problem with the court probate service. Lisa was excellent. The service I received was superb particularly in view of the postal strike and, the fact I live 200 miles away. Nothing has been too much trouble for this department. Stay away!Cheap services - our buyer just pulled out because the process was taking almost 6 month for CHAIN FREE sale because of Hedleys useless solicitors! They wouldn't return the agent and our solicitor calls and sat on the documents for MONTHS. We wasted our time and money, paying martgage and charges for an empty house that now has to go back to the market because of the uncomptency of this company. Pretty sure they accept hundreds of cheap cases and just can't deliver anythingTIME WASTERS!!!

I moved into the property of my dreams in October 2022 thanks to Kirsty. I have been busy renovating the property and have not had time to leave a review, until now. I would not be where I am today if it were not for Kirsty.She stayed with me through a number of properties that fell through. Finally I found a property that was for sale through the new auction system. Kirsty had seven days to complete this complicated sale, she went above and beyond to make sure she got this property for me and managed to get everything completed, she was amazing. Chain free property has taken 15 weeks so far. I am not Hedley’s Client but have been 3 times in the years gone.Previously there was never an issue, always on time and communication was great.This time as a seller and my buyer is using Hedleys, we (my solicitor) are not getting anything from Hedleys even after several promises for a call - the case is still ongoing, wonder if we will get that call back which was promised 4 weeks ago.Currently very very disappointed, not a current customer but had been 3 times before, and unfortunately won’t use them again in the future.

My Mortgage team recommended this company for a leasehold property. I send email and tried to reach to via phone but no response. They assign Kirsty Hudson as a solicitor . I don't know where is my case and how to contact them as they are not responding to queries. Seems like I need to find out a new solicitor.

Terrible solicitors I would not recommend these . My “Smooth Move “ with McCarthy Stone “ turned into a nightmare with this company . I was moving into my new apartment on the Friday lunch time and two days before in the evening I received two emails with 11 attachments that needed completing before the move , two with many pages had been completed and handed over two weeks earlier . I was up till after midnight printing off documents and filling them in , the next day I had to drive to Sunderland and hand deliver these along with the deeds to my house and other documents for my property.They do not respond to emails or reply to phone calls . I’m still waiting for my deeds and lease four months after completion. Please don’t make the excuse of the postal strike .It’s a pity I have to give one star , zero would be more appropriate.

Our overall experience with Hedley’s and in particular Lisa Copeland was first class. All our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Lisa managed to get both our completion dates on the same day which we were very pleased with because at one point that just didn’t seem possible.We would have no hesitation to use Hedley’s solicitor’s in the future and would recommend them to all our family and friends.Thank you Hedley’s,we are very happy in our new home.
