Invidia Voices- Rock & Soul Choir - Norwich
My husband and I have been members of the choir for 7 years. We love singing with our ‘Invidia family.‘ There is a great range of uplifting songs which are chosen by the choir members. All the tutors are professional and inspiring. The choir is inclusive of all abilities and gives everyone a chance to gain confidence and singing skills. Warmly recommended

I joined Invidia Rock and Soul choir 7.5 years ago and haven't looked back. It is a no audition fun choir with no other agenda than enjoyment. Matt and his team of teachers are superb and great fun. We work hard in rehearsals and there is also the online members area to access all of the songs to practice at our leisure. We sing at many charity events and also have great fun with flash mobs". During the Corona outbreak Matt has organised on line rehearsals along with piano and music reading lessons. This has really helped to get many of us through these trying times and also keep in touch with the many friends made in the choir. And that is the essence of this choir

I have been a member of Invidia Voices for 7.5 years. Invidia is now a part of my identity. Being part of this choir is not just about singing the 6 part harmony songs that Matt has arranged. Invidia is so much more than that. We are like a big family. Before lockdown we’d socialise together, enjoy performing at flash mobs and gigs in pubs at fetes and even at Carrow Road. We’d have Summer Balls; sing Hallelujah at Red Balloon Charity events; we even have our own annual Christmas Hamper charity. But we’d also meet up and have fun doing non choir stuff too. Several members have gone on to create their own groups and duets and perform professionally. My hubby and I have made lifelong friends in the choir. During lockdown I missed these guys as much as I missed my family. But Matt made sure that we kept some sort of normality going over the past few months. Virtually everyday, often more than once a day, Matt made sure we had some connection together. Whether as online rehearsals, piano lessons or reading music lessons and even a Saturday night disco! With the help of the other three choir teachers we’ve all been able to keep in touch online. It’s not been easy and at the start was riddled with technical issues as we all tried to get used to the new norm. But Matt wouldn't give up and despite having a family to take care of, he was and is, determined that the choir would always be there. Many of us would not have coped as well with lockdown without this.So even CV19 can’t stop Invidia Voices Rock and Soul Choir from singing even if now we do it slightly differently for the time being. And The Reunion Party will be another happy memory to add to the others we have. Thank you Matt x

I’ve been a Member of Invidia Voices for 3 years now , & It’s the best thing Ive ever done . They make you feel so welcome, and are very supportive even when I’ve had the worst day after rehearsals I’m always smiling. You don’t have to be an amazing singer. If your the kind of person who loves music & wants to have fun then you will fit right in . So proud to be a member xx

I joined Invidia Voices in March 2017. Since then, my life has changed beyond recognition. The support and friendship of this wonderful group of people goes far beyond just being a choir.Matt Emmerson, who runs the choir, goes above and beyond for his choir every single day. With the current situation with Covid-19, he has been a lifeline for so many of us.In normal times, the choir is fun, friendly and supportive with no judgement of anyone. Your level of ability is not questioned. All are welcome.Joining Invidia was the single best decision I ever made!

Being part of Invidia Rock & Soul Choir, is like being in one big family. It’s fun, friendly & supportive, we all come with different abilities in singing and this is very much accepted in our choir, nobody is ever critical of any one, and with the help of our wonderful tutors we learn to improve & be more confident in our singing.Being with like minded people is so uplifting, rehearsals are fun & performing gives you such a buzz, being in Invidia is a big part of my life, & I mustn’t forget to say that singing is good for your health.

A while ago, my wife and I decided it would be a good plan to do some leisure activity together and we came along to an Invidia Voices choir rehearsal which was then at Epic Studios, not quite sure what to expect. It has been literally life transforming not only because of the sheer joy of singing together with others but also because we are part of a very supportive and social group. We have made loads of new friends and have performed at numerous Norfolk events including the Waterfront and backing Take That at Carrow Road in 2019 which was an incredible experience. Not to mention the Invidia Initiative charity, singing workshops and so much more. A gigantic THANK YOU to Matt, Alex and Team Invidia!

Invidia Voices is a fun and friendly choir, singing all sorts of Rock, Soul and Pop songs such as Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Bohemian Rhapsody, Valerie, Living on a Prayer, Good Vibrations. There is a lot of variety in the songs and the singing ability of the individual members, but the sound we create together is awesome. Everyone is very supportive. No audition and nobody minds how well you sing. Singing is good for the Soul and I love this choir. It's the best thing that I have done for me in a very long time.

This choir has changed my life, I have gained new friends and we are like a big family. Before the pandemic we would sing together and have such an amazing time, during the pandemic Matt has been AMAZING by providing online choir rehearsals, how to read music tutorials, how to play the piano, singing workshops and on top of that, he created a free choir called Corona Voices for the public to get involved over lockdown.Matt does an amazing job and this choir is a god send. If you want some me time, no matter whether you can sing or not, join Invidia Voices!

Invidia has been such a life changer for me since the day I joined over 6 years ago! It’s the family I never knew I needed with so much support and love, even through such stressful times as Lockdown, Invidia continues to support and aid as many people as they can by getting us all together (even if only virtually) to sing our hearts out. It’s the biggest mood and confidence boost ever, and I’m grateful to Matt, Alex and the Team for all they do for their members. Honestly cannot recommend enough! If you’re looking for an amazing, friendly, supportive community choir, here it is!
