Oxford EMDR and Mindfulness for Birth and Parenting
My partner and I attended the one-day mindful hypnobirthing course in October 2019 and found it really helpful. Guin combines very grounded knowledge and skills with a gentle, approachable demeanour and the workshop is full of practical, thoughtful techniques to equip us for the different possibilities of labour and birth. Very personal, supportive, gently paced, and thoroughly pragmatic. Just making clear space to develop and practice these techniques felt like a very valuable experience!

Myself and my partner absolutely loved our course with Guin. We both felt we learnt so much, and since the course I have felt so much more positive about the birth of my baby soon. In fact, I am looking forward to it! I really recommend this to anyone.

My husband and I did Guin's mindful hypnobirthing all day class in June 2018 and it was really excellent. Going into the class I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought if I came away with a good breathing technique I would be happy. The class gave me and my husband/birth partner so much more. I was really impressed by how very grounded in practicalities and what scientifically/biologically happens in birth and labour this class was - I had maybe thought that hypnobirthing would be quite a hippyish affair but actually it was about applying techniques to very practically help things along and to optimise the birth experience.I had an ECV procedure at 37 weeks to turn my breech baby which allowed me to practise some of my breathing and visualisation techniques, and I was very grateful for these as it was quite an intense procedure. My husband also helped me afterwards as we waited for the drugs to wear off (which had made my heart beat really fast) with some supportive breathing together which was a direct result of this class - the class was definitely great for giving you ways of working with your birth partner for maximum support in labour and birth. I am now looking forward to using what we both learnt on the big day. I highly recommend Guin's hypnobirthing class for anyone who is the least bit intrigued about coping techniques for pregnancy and labour, you will definitely come away with something you can use to help make your birth experience as positive as possible, whatever happens along the way.

Both me and my husband very much enjoyed the Hypnobirthing workshop with Guin in December 2019. The day was well organised and the content was tailored to our individual needs. It was also well balanced in terms of different learning activities spread throughout the day, so we never really felt tired and managed to stay focused the whole time. The workshop equipped us with knowledge of what happens during child birth on both physiological and psychological level and how to embrace the whole experience with a positive mindset. We got to practice various hypnobirthing techniques and received a wide range of tips and tricks on how to practice mindfulness and relaxation both during pregnancy and birth, and also in our daily lives. We can highly recommend the workshop to any expectant mother and her birth partner, it's money well spent.

Guin leads the mindful parenting group with real skill - she has created a wonderful space for parents to practice together - practising both meditation and also parenting itself. The group is very accepting - whatever the babies might do! It really is a unique experience. I would definitely recommend it. In fact I would recommend any project Guin is involved in as she works with such compassion and gentle wisdom. Thanks Guin for every thing you do!

My partner and I attended the hypnobirthing class in September 2019. This was a brilliant workshop. Guin was so well prepared in explaining us everything related to birth and was able to really listen with care and respect to every concern. We personally appreciated the mix of techniques and the time to relax and focus on the baby.I also valued the explanation on the labour, hormones and stages. It was a useful refresher of what happens during labour. In general, I felt positive about the birth experience and less worried about the pain. After the class my perception of the pain changed in an exciting adventure that I was looking forward to experience.Attending this class, also helped us reflect on our the labour of our first child and understand why things evolved in certain way and feel more confident that given the situation we made the best choices for us and the baby. Finally, when the labour started, we practiced some of the techniques and were more conscious of what would have happened. This helped us to feel more tuned in to our own and other's needs. So highly recommend this special bonding day.
