Lingo Folk - French lessons for children and adults - Scotland

There are 12 consecutive positive and praiseworthy reviews for Cheryl Winton's teaching - (probably 11 if you discount my mistook in posting the same comment twice last time). I am delighted, however, to round things up to a dozen. It is a pleasure to be among Cheryl's student cohort. Cheryl is a fantastic teacher who does teach ‘lovely, lively language lessons’. The format suits me perfectly as the words and phrases are so relevant and useful, and the variety of exercises allow me to enjoy working on all aspects of my French language learning.

Cheryl is a wonderful, kind teacher. Our child had a great time taking her class, learned new words, and became more confident speaking French.

These adult face to face lessons are delivered in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable environment. Cheryl's teaching methods have developed my abilities more so than traditional classroom based evening classes. I would recommend these classes highly.The child french lessons with Cheryl have been fun and engaging. Our child has attended from nursery age and is now well into primary school. He engages with the fun learning material and songs. We often hear him singing French songs in the bath. Cheryl has maintained his enthusiasm and engagement with her fun and interactive teaching style.

I was keen to improve my conversational French, as I seriously lacked confidence when it came to speaking the language and I did not possess a good ear when people spoke to me in French. I decided to sign up for an online course with Cheryl Strange, Language for Fun, Scotland. I must admit I was apprehensive at meeting with a group of strangers and having to attempt to speak French in front of them but I need not have worried. I was immediately made to feel very welcome and in turn I relaxed very quickly. The course was an excellent mixture of learning new vocabulary, writing in French and most importantly conversing in French. I already feel I am gaining confidence. We are now due to commence our Spring/Summer ten week course, which will take the form of a face to face meeting this time within a lovely cosy pub. I can hardly wait!!

My son started online sessions a few months ago and loved it. Cheryl is lovely and makes the classes really engaging and fun for them. It's fantastic to see the progress that he is making in learning French and how much he can remember every week thanks to the lessons.

I have started my journey to learn French with Cheryl who could not be a better tutor, she is patient and takes time to explain things really well and tailors the lessons to my situation making them more realistic. The added benefit of the online material helps embed the lessons The bonus of having real time face to face tuition is really homing in on the pronunciation and going at the right pace to embed the learning. I would thoroughly recommend Cheryl to anyone looking to gain French language skills and I look forward to continuing my journey with her.

A small group of “more mature” students more than slightly nervous about diving back in to a foreign language after so many years. No problem! Cheryl made everyone feel very welcome and relaxed about joining in. Everyone is happy to pitch in with answers knowing they are in a safe learning environment where it really doesn’t matter if you get it wrong first time - you will learn at the right place. It really is enjoyable.
