There honestly isn’t enough that we can say about Lorraine. We were both quite clued up on birth, so we were a little worried that the doula support wouldn’t be as useful for us - but how wrong we were! Throughout our birth planning, Lorraine gave us a safe space to discuss our hopes and preferences without judgment, and helped fine tune some of the ideas we already had.It was our preference to have a water birth at home. Unfortunately, we ended up having to transfer as the baby was somewhat wedged.Lorraine helped maintain our ‘safe space’ amongst the chaos of the paramedic team arriving, and reminded us of our options so that we felt we were making informed choices. When we got to the hospital, she was right there with us - a familiar, safe face amongst a sea of new people. Just her presence in the room felt anchoring.In the end, I had a rather (avoidable) traumatic birth experience that ended in an unplanned C-Section. This is when Lorraine really helped us. I was in theatre for a while, but she stayed to greet us on our return to recovery. She was the one who was able to give my partner a hug when she saw his face on return to the room. She was the one who helped me get skin to skin (which I wasn’t able to get in theatre) and support me with my first feed when we felt no one else was listening. After leaving the hospital at 1am, she even went back to our house and cleared up so that my partner could come back to a clean house.I always knew Lorraine would be a great help to me. What we didn’t expect is what an INCREDIBLE help she would be to my husband.A few days after we got home from the hospital, Lorraine visited us and worked through our birth story with us. She listened. She supported. She validated the trauma.I can’t describe what impact her presence has had on us. She was there for us during one of the most exciting, and at times traumatic, periods of our life. She started as our doula, but we’d now firmly consider her a friend.Thank you, Lorraine!

I heard Lorraine being interviewed about her services as a doula on a solo mum's podcast and I loved how genuine and warm she sounded, so I was so happy when I found out she supported people in my area. After having a fantastic intro call, where I felt instantly connected with Lorraine I knew I wanted her to be part of my journey. Throughout my pregnancy and beyond Lorraine offered support and guidance on many things, which included creating a birth preference document to help me feel confident to have the birth that I wanted - this proved invaluable for the birth. Lorraine's support after I had my baby was amazing, visiting me to support any way I needed - it was here I was able to rest knowing I was leaving my baby in good hands. Lorraine also helped in my first few months of motherhood with advice on anything I was unsure of. I also highly recommend using Lorraine as a photographer, she took so many beautiful photos of me and my son in the comfort of my own home. What would we have done without the beautiful Lorraine. My partner Benjamin found her in a time of need - something I’ll be forever grateful for. New to the area we were feeling a little lost. Lorraine gave us the confidence and reassurance throughout many months of being pregnant and postpartum. The guidance that she gave us and the love and support she showed .... I find it hard to put into words just how much we appreciate it.I wanted to to say this her on our last session but I got too shy ... she was often a shining light on a very dull day for me. A little ray of sunshine when I really needed it the most. I can’t recommend her enough!

Lorraine provided support to me during my second birth. Lorraine helped me get through a very difficult period at home and provided the support I needed for me and my baby. Lorraine was a listening ear, helped me and my toddler adjust to new family life, and helped with all the practical challenges that come with a new baby. Lorraine is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and at the same time is very personable, down to earth and just a lovely positive caring person to be around. I would highly recommend doula support.

Lorraine's support has been brilliant in the run up to the birth, during the birth and afterwards postnatally. She is compassionate, flexible, a great listener and can provide lots of high quality information to help you make informed choices about your birth and what to expect in the fourth trimester. I was incredibly grateful that Lorraine was there to state my preferences at the birth and has provided loads of emotional and practical support along the way. She also captured some special photos at key times in my journey. If you're thinking about hiring a doula Lorraine would be a great choice :-)

Lorraine came to me in my own home environment, to take photos of my pregnancy bump. She put me at ease, made me feel confident and relaxed. We discussed beforehand and on the day the type of images i wanted to achieve. We shared ideas and came up with a plan. The photos she has taken are amazing and i couldn't have asked for better images. i love every single one of them. I cant recommend Lorraine enough. Thanks again

I remember reading through Lorraine’s list of packages and seeing the word ‘investment’ in reference to her fees. I felt it was a very strange word to use! But 24 hours later (I went into labour early) I realised that indeed it was one of the best investments I ever made. Due to Covid and other family reasons neither my mum nor my husband could attend the birth, but Lorraine ended up being both rolled into one: she represented the solid support and presence of my husband and my mum’s maternal care and comfort. I only needed to concentrate on dealing with the surges and getting the baby out while she dealt with everything else. She drove me to the hospital, kept my family constantly updated, helped me to breathe and stay calm, organised my things, got me a water bottle with a straw to make sipping water easier, took pictures, held my newborn daughter while I changed my clothes and refreshed, got me her own car seat for the drive home - the list is endless. But most importantly she held my hand and was just there for me at the most terrifying yet joyful experience of my life. Her photography package was also amazing and allowed me to share the beautiful memories with my family. I would not hesitate to recommend Lorraine’s services to anyone- she’s highly professional, knowledgable, organised, compassionate and makes the whole process about you and your needs. I could tell that being a doula is more than just her job, it’s her absolute passion. Thank you Lorraine from the bottom of my heart- you were my doula and pillar of support, and now you are my friend for hopefully many years to come!

Lorraine is amazing. Her support has been invaluable during the birth of my second child. I couldn't recommend her enough, the way she made me feel at ease through her virtual support due to covid was as if she was right with me.
