Long established NT property. Quite popular even mid-week. Lots of paths to enjoy. Many bird species, and we saw some small deer only metres away - a nice surprise. A lovely homely coffee shop/cafe to wind down after a few hours of walking. Picnic areas if you're planning to stay longer. Definitely going back soon.

As national trust members, we love walking around Gibside, there's loads of different routes, so it's always varied. The Cafe is excellent and reasonably priced.

Lovely walk with the dog although not sure it’s worth the per person entrance price and the car parking is ridiculous!

Great place to explore with the family and children. We chose the orange trail and enjoyed the wooden animals in the woods especially the big bat. The play area was superb so was the low ropes, the children absolutely loved it! Highly recommend to visit

A brilliant place to visit. Lots of walks (some steep) with a great map to follow 4 routes. The cafe was busy but organised and our food was delicious and served quickly. You could easily spend a full day here. There was lots organised for children as it was the summer holidays.

Our first visit and 100% won't be our last. Absolutely loved the trails offered and such beautiful scenery. Very well maintained and great tea room

Brilliant place, me and the misses go all the time with the pup. The misses uses a wheelchair, so she utilises the trampers available to hire for free.Don't forget to stop at the cafe in the Stables. Nice coffee, friendly atmosphere.

Lovely for a walk, lovelier still if you’re a national trust member and don’t have to pay a one-off admission charge. We’ve visited on numerous occasions (living close by), it never fails to disappoint, as the seasons change, so do the walks. The planned events are worth keeping an eye out for if such events are your thing, these are always done with aplomb, especially around Christmas time. There is ample parking, and the cafe is as you’d expect when visiting the National trust. If you like walks with views, you’ll enjoy Gibside.

Lovely NT property. 4 trails of varying difficulty. We did Liberty trail as our dog is elderly & uses a pram for part of her walks. It was a hot day but there are some lovely shaded areas on the trail. We stopped for a drink at the café by the stables & were treated to some acrobatics from the swallows tending to their nests. The young lady serving was lovely! So friendly and helpful. The scenery is beautiful and there are some lovely needlework panels in the walled garden. Plenty of deckchairs, benches and tables and chairs for everyone although lots of scenic places to sit on a blanket with a picnic. We live 30 mins away so will most certainly be returning.
