What an amazing place! Such a wonderful first time experience at paddle boarding here for my daughter's birthday . Carol was extremely lovely and gave us advice and tips. The canal itself is simple stunning and very tranquil. Such a wonderful set up and would highly recommend to all. Thanks Dilham Hall Canoe!

A fantastic morning recently on the river canoes racing with the family (racing" used loosely!). We hired 3 canoes between 8 of us plus 2 dogs! The staff were very friendly and helpful

Great activity, we hired 2 canoes (3 seats in each for 6 of us). Lovely quiet trip along the river, the new owners have cleaned lots of the weed etc out of the river making for a smoother ride. Lots of wildlife to see. They now offer other water based activities too. Great friendly staff explained exactly what to do for those of us unsure about water sports. Would definitely recommend.

Long overdue review but Carol and Captain B made the experience of kayaking and fishing for our kids so memorable. It has been bugging me for ages to leave a review as oustanding as the day they made for us.It was a short trip to Norfolk and I had been getting to get my kids 8,9 into kayaking. They had paddled a few times already, not ready yet for the sea or estuaries, but comfortable in quieter waters. There were quite a few options to choose from but I liked the look and feel of the Dilham hall website and I called them to enquire further. Captain B was very friendly and when I asked him if we could do some fishing too, he said it was not a problem and could arrange - even though it was not an activity listed on the website!The kayak launch area was a beautifully kept area, really nice when the sun was out and the coffee/drinks flowing. Carol was very friendly and told us alot about the area, Dilham hall and the kayaking around Norfolk.The canal was beautiful and the kayaking was perfect for us.After kayaking, Captain B set up the fishing rods and brought along some brightly coloured maggots as bait. He patiently explained to our kids, everything they needed to know about fishing and was very encouraging. We caught and released plenty of trench and perch. Our kids loved it!

An awesome experience paddle boarding for the first time. Captain B is so helpful and kind, we really appreciated his help. He is very knowledgable, enthusiastic and encouraging, which was what I needed to get on the paddle board in the first place! The canal is a beautiful stretch of water which is perfect for this activity, especially if you’re a newbie like us. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to come back again soon! I hope lots of people make use of this great facility!

A friend and I hired a double kayak for half a day and found the experience so enchanting that we went back again 2 days later. The river is actually an old canal but it's barely possible to tell. It's an idyllic stretch of water where you might well see kingfishers and certainly, at this time of year, dragonflies.If you like a gentle paddle in a canoe where you are amongst nature this is a wonderful place to explore.Captain B and Carol who run the business are extremely friendly, likeable and experienced canoeists and paddle boarders. We found them great company and very informative about the canal and wildlife.You can paddle right out into the Broads from there or stay on this quiet stretch.As an autistic adult I loved the peace and quiet of the field where Captain B and Carol run the business from and where you set off on the water, and the idyllic (even in the rain) journey on the water.I wish them all the best with this business as the goal is clearly about spreading the joy of nature.

Absolutely fantastic day spent with Dilham Hall Canoe Hire. Great opportunity to try out a large range of craft from paddle boards to canoes to double kayaks. The lock itself is so peaceful and a perfect place for those looking to gain more confidence out on the water as there’s no motorised vehicles about.Hard to summarise both Captain B and Carol as they were both incredible. Great to have people that provide such great guidance and instruction but also want you to get the most out of your experience and have fun. We will definitely be returning especially for the paddle board lessonsAll in all a fantastic day out and could not recommend enough for all ages!

Fantastic days hire of a kayak down this beautiful private Canal. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, amazing that they have only been running for 6-7 weeks ! Was lovely to even spot a kingfisher on our travels. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the busier stretches of the broads.

Beautiful spot tucked away in the countryside. Very friendly - we visited 2 afternoons on our holiday and each time had 2 hours on a 3 person canoe for £26. Can't recommend it enough. Easiest all round if you take cash!
