Optimax Laser Eye Surgery - Hull

I had treatment at Optimax in 2012 by Dr Samuel. My prescription was around -5.00 in both eyes, I used contact lenses but mainly glasses which I found annoying. I chose to have Lasek treatment, I was suitable for both but decided Lasek would suit me and my lifestyle better. I was fully informed of both treatments and complications, I read the consent form and knew the risks before I signed it. I was very comfortable on the day of treatment, I saw Dr Samuel again and he checked my eyes and scans thoroughly. The treatment was very quick, about 12 seconds per eye with the laser and the Doctor spoke to me throughout so I knew exactly what was happening.Afterwards I was expecting it to be painful but it was more just uncomfortable for about 3/4 days, my eyes felt dry mainly but I was still able to put all the drops in and took paracetamol to help the discomfort. My vision was blurred but was similar to walking around without my glasses on - I was still able to do things, make a cup of tea etc.After about 7 days my vision was perfect, I still had a bit of dryness but drops helped this. Even when I developed a complication (I got haze which affected my vision slightly) this was treated quickly with steroid drops and I recovered with no problems.2 and a half years later my vision is still good, I do have a very small prescription for driving which I don't mind at all and I was informed about before the treatment. This was mainly due to my age and even without treatment my prescription would still have got even worse and I would be relying on glasses for every single task. I can still do everything I need to without contacts or glasses which makes such a difference. I would recommend the treatment and the clinic.
