The Port of Leith Distillery
Edinburgh, a city steeped in history and tradition, has just welcomed a new addition - A whiskey distillery that promises to be a cornerstone of the city's future. Port of Leith distillery embodies the spirit of Edinburgh, from its humble beginnings in a back garden to its current status as a state-of-the-art whiskey haven. The journey from idea to reality is evident in every aspect of this building and the heart and soul of its owners make it an unforgettable experience.

POLD is the Brewdog of Scotch whisky.A brand new distillery with a vertical twist. Our tour guide, Ellie, showed us everything and managed to give it all a story which was engaging and exciting. Not easy for a place only just opened! The tasting at the end is different from other distilleries as they don't yet have the whisky; but they have the Heart! In the top floor restaurant the drinks are strong and our waiter (Bertha) was super fun. Extensive and quality whisky list. The Brussel sprouts are good snacking, recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the distillery today. Our guide, Leo, was really knowledgeable and engaging.Port of Leith really seem to be blazing a new trail when it comes to whisky distilling in Scotland and it was really inspiring to hear about their journey up until this point. The whole experience on the tour felt very well-thought through and the tasting portion was a highlight! Highly recommended.

I really did enjoy my time here. Does the wine taste good? Yes it does. We had a conversation with Paddy Fletcher, the Co-CEO as part of our study trip from the University of Edinburgh’s Business School. There’s so much to learn from the team and I recommend a visit to this place. The view is also great.

The food and drinks (opted for mocktails) were absolutely amazing! Every dish was a burst of flavors, prepared to perfection. The quality of ingredients was evident, and the presentation was top-notch. I was thoroughly impressed with the taste and creativity of each dish. It was a delightful culinary experience that left me wanting more. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my dining experience. They were courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to assist with any questions or requests. Their attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for providing excellent service truly enhanced the overall dining atmosphere. Kudos to the staff for making the meal even more enjoyable! Can’t recommend enough!

Really advised to take a tour of the distillery! What a fun activity to do while making a trip around Edinburgh. The story of the founders and the company is fun and engaging. The tasting is a great addition along with the small souvenir you get to take home.If you don’t have enough time for the tour, the bar certainly is another reason for a visit!

I had the best time at the Port of Leith Distillery, I came along to complete a university project on the distillery and all of the staff such as Simon, Ellie and Bryony were so welcoming and accommodating! The building is amazing with a great shop and bar, and the tour itself was really informative! It's also in a wonderful location with really good views of the Leith waterfront. Thank you for such a great day and making carrying out my project such an easy process!

We booked a table in the top floor bar and completed the distillery tour just before that (also a good item for your agenda). You can just go to the bar though - no need to do the tour first! We sat at our table around 5:30pm which on that night meant that we were in the bar throughout the sunset on a beautiful clear night. The views were amazing!Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We had a nice booth for our group which comfortably seated six. There was another level of balcony seating above, which also had great views (see photo taken from there). The menu was very nice - small dishes but offering a selection of distinct tastes with a scottish flavour. We especially liked the Cheese, Haggis and Potato dish and the brussell sprout side dish. All dishes were tasty and not too big portions.Definite strong recommendation from us - we'll be back on a regular basis.

A new jewel on Leith! Get an eagles eye panorama of the Forth from the bar at the top floor. Delicious small plates and amazing cocktails with signature spirits from the distillery! Highly recommended!
