Baby Squids

Thomas and I have absolutely loved our swimming journey with Baby Squids Southampton both Emma and Vicky. The classes are full of fun with lots of singing and play which really gave my little boy so much water confidence, something which we have taken on with us to school swimming lessons. After only 2 school swim England swim lessons the teachers have already commented on how confident & happy Thomas is in the water. I 100% put this down to our time with Baby Squids. The instructors are all so welcoming and friendly and so enthusiastic about what they do. You can really tell they all love their job. If you are looking for a swim school to give your baby or toddler the first vital stages of water confidence and safety I can't recommend baby squids enough. Thank you all for an amazing baby toddler group. We will really miss you.

We have loved our swimming lessons. Started at only 6 months old and now age 3 her confidence in the water has grown and grown. Nadine and Lucy have been great teachers and it is a really fun class. Would 100% recommend baby squids.

My baby son and I love baby squids swimming classes! The classes are the prefect length for him, and he loves all the exercises during the class using such fun and brightly coloured props, with songs and meeting other baby friends. It really is a highlight of our week, and the classes are really well designed for teaching him to feel comfortable in the water and for starting to learn how to swim. The pool is also so warm and lovely to swim in too - a lovely small and intimate class babies and parents. I’d highly recommend it and will be signing up again and again. Thanks so much!

I cannot express enough how thrilled I am with the Baby Squids swimming lessons my little one has been attending. From the very first lesson, it was clear that this program was something special, and it has exceeded all my expectations.First and foremost, the instructor deserves all the praise in the world. Their patience, enthusiasm, and expertise are truly remarkable. Teaching toddlers to swim can be a challenging task, but this instructor has a gift for making every lesson engaging and enjoyable. They create a warm and welcoming environment that puts both parents and toddlers at ease.One of the things I appreciate most about these lessons is how well they are tailored to the age group. The instructor understands that toddlers have short attention spans and varying comfort levels in the water. They have a remarkable ability to gauge each child's readiness and adjust the lesson accordingly. This individualised approach ensures that every child progresses at their own pace while having fun along the way.The class structure is both fun and educational. The games and activities are not only engaging but also serve as valuable tools to teach essential swimming skills. My toddler looks forward to every lesson, and I've noticed a significant improvement in their confidence and ability in the water.Moreover, safety is clearly a top priority for the instructor and the program. They make sure that every child is comfortable in the water and knows basic water safety rules. Darcie and I have loved every minute of our sessions with Baby Squids. The one to one time with Darcie is lovely and the classes are varied and engaging. We look forward to seeing the different fun water activities we’ll be doing every week and Darcie loves all the pool toys and games. Heather had been a lovely teacher for Darcie and although already water confident, her swimming has come along so so quickly since starting baby squids. It’s so hard to find great classes for the children and Baby squids has definitely been great for us.

Naomi is a fantastic swim teacher, our 6 month old baby loved splashing about, loved the singing and the social aspect. Highly recommend and thank you.

I couldn’t recommend baby squids enough! I took my little boy to Ashurst (heather’s class) when he has just turned 3 months old.Now he is 9 months old and his confidence has grown in the water so much! In the first few weeks he struggling to stick out the entire class, he got hungry or tired quite quickly, but after about 3 weeks and perseverance and help from Heather, he loved it!

After 5 years and 2 children doing swim lessons with baby squids, sadly our journey is coming to an end. The swimming lessons and all the teachers (over the years we have had Nicky, Kathryn and Jodie) have been absolutely fantastic and very patient when my little ones have had the odd off day. They have played a pivotal role in getting my children to both enjoy and be safe in the water. I highly recommend Baby Squids to anyone wanting to get little ones swimming.

Me and my daughter loved our time at Baby Squids and the lessons are a fantastic way to introduce a baby into the world of swimming.My little girl really enjoyed the different activities each week, learning how to kick and move her arms in the water and it help build her confidence getting into a pool (even going underneath the water).Our instructor Vicky was brilliant to work with and my daughter was happy to see her every week.I’d highly recommend the class to anyone who is looking to introduce their child to swimming.
