I had a great day out with Dave going through some of the mountaineering skills for the MCI scheme. He tailored the day to our needs and delivered it in a great way. I would definitely recommend Dave to others going through qualifications.

Had a great three days trad climbing on the Welsh Classic Rock routes and other classics - Tremadog, Llanberis Pass and Ogwen. Dave’s great local knowledge allowed us to dodge the bad weather and climb nearly empty amazing routes. Dave’s super professional coaching allowed me to push my grades in a considered and fun way. Great to come away from a trip having learnt a lot and achieved some long held goals.

Dave is an exceptional guide, a real professional in his field. He has a fantastic attitude with positive vibes all round. Our day with Dave was absolutely fantastic, he really helped us develop our skills to become more confidant climbers. He has a great teaching style and he really knows how to pass on his knowledge effectively. After our day with Dave we really felt that we had vastly improved our skills and we will certainly be going back to him for more days like that . Communication prior to our day was excellent, answered all our questions and was super helpful all the way though. Dave is a fantastic guide, we climbed ice in Norway and rock in North Wales with Dave. He has super knowledgeable of all aspects of climbing and the areas & routes we climbed so he easily found routes that fit our aspirations. A great coach, he knows when to push you on or reign you in and climbing with Dave is always fun. Highly recommended!

I couldn't recommend Dave highly enough for any mountaineering or ski touring trips, he's an exceptional guide in every regard. He's an excellent climber and technical guide but also just great to spend time in the mountains with.His extensive experience in the Scottish Highlands showed through in being able suggest great objectives and safely topping out. He really differentiated himself though in that when I asked to make it a learning experience, he provided some of the more productive learning days I've had in the mountains. Whether you're after a guide, partner in the mountains or someone to learn form, Dave is genuinely an excellent choice.Keep it up and we'll see you out there soon!

We have been on three separate trips with Dave over the last 5 years and have always had an amazing time. Safety is of course his main concern and the trust this builds in you will leave you feelings sure in his decisions and advice. Highly recommend!

I have had 2 days out with Dave, either side of Summer '22, I was looking for some confidence with my climbing and to get an idea of my ability, as I look towards an aim of MCI training in the next year or 2. Having met Dave 10 years ago on my Mountain Leader training course at Plas Y Brenin, he was directing the course, he was confident, highly knowledgable, and just so psyched about all elements of the course and was a font of knowledge for the nature and historical elements, which I hadn't seen as important before. I learned so much over the week and it gave me a new course I wanted to follow. So he was my first thought 10 years later, having now attained Mountain Guide status was impressive enough, also for me he has a very impressive climbing resume. My 2 days with Dave were well organised, we had discussion of weather and venue beforehand and met early, and had full days, gaining a much better idea of my ability and being able to see what I need to work on and towards. I would highly recommend getting in touch with Dave if you want a friendly, knowledgeable, mountain professional to guide or help your goals in the hills and mountains.
