Sew Forest of Dean Sewing Workshops

Just to say a huge thank you to Jennifer at Sew Forest of Dean. Thoroughly enjoyed our beginners course for Patchwork Quilting, it went by far too quickly. Will definitely do more courses when able to. Jennifer is a very calm tutor and makes you feel at ease all the time. The workshop is cosy and comfortable in lovely surroundings, all working at socially distance spacing and necessary hand sanitisation. Really enjoyed this workshop. I have attached photo's of my finished project. A quilt as you go lap quilt. I can thoroughly recommend Jen's workshops for beginner quilters like me.

A fantastic course and experience. The workshop is comfortable, well stocked and full of delights to view and stimulate. The 2 day course explored many styles and techniques which gives a wonderful and inspiring base from which to further develop. The tuition is personal with a small group enabling a lot of direct support. Jen is an excellent and relaxed tutor who encourages creativity and pushing boundaries and work is produced at a good and steady rate with no wasted time. My result is a piece that I love and feel very proud to have created. Thank you Jen.

Jen is a clear, experienced and helpful tutor. She has a wealth of knowledge and is generous in sharing her hints and tips. (I recently attended Jen’s wreath course and learnt a huge amount in the time.) The studio is perfect - it’s hard not to be distracted by her work! I’ve already started looking for my next course. I've just been on the Wonky Donkey Quilt Workshop and had a wonderful day. I learned so much, got a foothold on making a quilt, and met some lovely people into the bargain.Jen is a brilliant teacher, explains everything very clearly, with demonstrations and help as we went along.I'll definitely be back for another workshop one day.Highly recommended.

If there is one thing which keeps me going throughout a busy and stressful week, it’s my Thursday evenings with Jen and the girls in the cabin! We sew, chat, drink tea but mostly have lots of laughs whilst working on our own projects. The support, encouragement and hints and tips are invaluable in this informal group. Just what is needed at the end of a busy week.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jennifers creative machine embroidery 2 day workshop.Her studio is a delight to work in with lots of light and space and absolutely everything and more that we needed for our work.Bring a former teacher I know how hard it can be to teach a subject when there is a wide variety of abilities amongst the students in a group.Jen made us all feel comfortable and gave us very clear guide lines and demonstrations and the aims for completing each step of our pictures.All four of us had different styles and ideas of how we wanted to interpret our work and Jen encouraged us all to reach our goals.I learnt many skills during the workshop and came away with a piece of work I was pleased and proud of along with very comprehensive notes of everything Jen had taught us. Thus enabling me to continue further with my new found skills!Jen in my opinion offers a five star insight into the creative world of of machine embroidery and I know I will be returning for future courses.Thank you for a fabulous couple of days.

Wonderful day all round. Hadn't been sewing for about 6 years but Jen is a fantastic teacher, very friendly, and I made really good progress during the day. The project looked quite daunting at first, but with Jen breaking it down into small sections and explaining simply and demonstrating on her own machine the day just flew. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Jennifer is informative, reassuring and very patient.Her work shops are held in an ideal environment and I do not hesitate to recommend her to any one looking to develop their skills or learn a new one

I recently attended a 'learn to love your sewing machine' workshop and really enjoyed the whole day! It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with plenty of giggles as well as learning a huge amount.
