Isle of Wight Steam Railway - (Havenstreet,Station)

What a fantastic place to visit. We could have spent so much longer here than we did. We arrived just after 12 and left at 5.The museum was fantastic and all interactive. The falconry display was an added extra and unexpected.

A great experience for nostalgic memories of the steam era. Apart of the steam trains there are exhibitions of train memorabilia . There are also falconry displays that are included in the price. Lots of tea and refreshment spots to keep you going during your visit. It is well run and packed full of things to see. I can fully recommend a visit here

What a lovely heritage line! The atmosphere at the railway is fantastic, the enthusiasm of the volunteers and the visitor centric nature of this attraction creates a wonderfully welcoming environment. The locos are superb - a nice variety for a small line and incredible well maintained. The Train Story museum on the site is incredibly informative and really traverses the history of railways on the island. The on site restaurant has great quality food at reasonable prices. I enjoyed my time there and with so much more to see, I’m planning a return visit in the next couple of weeks!

Staff are really friendly, the dog can go on the trains too. If you book online you get a cheaper ticket and you can get an assigned seat on the train. It has the museum in the shop which is interesting and also has the train story in another building which allows you to go and have a look around other stock they have got.Picnic benches are available too and there is a coffee outlet, ice cream outlet and restaurant on site at Havenstreet.There is also a falconry display twice a day behind the station, very interesting to watch.

We loved our train ride, best 1 hour of our trip. It was amazing how much efforts and resources have been put into preserving the trains and railway.

We only expected to spend a few hours here but ended up staying all day. The train ride up and down the line is fantastic, there is a museum, train shed, refreshments, a well stocked gift shop and such lovely people running the place. Highly recommend visiting, especially if you love steam trains. An absolute joy!!!

We had a fantastic day, couldn't fault it. The staff were all wonderful, it was well worth the spend, we will go back for Easter!!

Great day out for all the family, kids loved the train ride and running around and riding on the trains and carriages in the 'train story' Museum. Even doggies are welcome.The are several cafes and places to buy food and refreshments, and plenty of space both indoor and outdoor to sit and eat and enjoy the sunshine. Plenty of toilets as well.Really friendly and knowledgeable staff made the experience even more enjoyable.Car park is large and a good condition tarmac one.Worth checking out the timetable and buying tickets online ahead of time so that you can plan your arrival.Highly recommended.
