So interesting. What a beautiful place to visit. Well worth the price. We explored the grounds and house for over 5 hours and still could have stayed longer.Beautiful gardens at any time of the year.A chance to look into the lives of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and their much loved , welcoming family home with their nine children.

Amazing house and gardens. The house is a one way system and has a lift for disabled. The beach was lovely too accessed by mini bus or a walk if you're up to it. Downside is that we came via a coach and my husband found it very hard to walk to the entrance from the car par, maybe a mini bus that went round all the grounds would be good. Other than that it was a lovely day out

Lovely place to visit. Our guide around the house, knew her stuff very well and was full of great information readily shared. A little larger signage at the entrance to the house and exit from the car park would be appreciated. An A1 VISIT highly recommended.

Lovely place to visit, especially on a slightly soggy day. We had a great meal in the entry cafe before a shuttle bus to the Swiss Cottage and back and then a stroll around the house. So much to see will be returning next time we’re on the island!

We had a great day, we walked a lot and learned a lot too. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There were plenty of places to have a drink and a cake. There were also a good number of well spaced out toilets on the site. You do feel you are walking in history.

What an amazing place to visit. So much history! Definitely worth visiting the beach here. Maybe needs more information in the rooms. The volunteers were knowledgeable, but on a busy day, I can imagine them not having enough time to explain everything.

We started around the walled garden - very pretty. The guide told us to look out for the piglets but we didn't see any. We aren't entirely sure where they were kept. The walk down to the beach is on a hill and from the house will take about 20 minutes from the house at a modest walking pace. I would recommend a good, comfortable walking shoe. Some of the trees have plaques, explaining they were planted by Prince Albert and his team of gardeners 180 years ago. The walk up the hill can be tiring on a sticky day, so there are benches you can rest on for a minute. I think there is also a bus shuttle that can take you another route down to the beach. We went back to the house but some of the exhibits are difficult to see as they're on a one-way circuit, and some people aren't too cognizant of queues forming behind them, and the rooms are small. The highlights for me were the study and the bathroom which had a concealed tin enamel bath and even a shower! There is even an original oak paneled lift that Queen Victoria used. I would have liked to have seen the servants quarters and kitchens but these are not on display. There is a cafe, gift shop, toilets and parking on site. Parking is free for English Heritage members. Coach parking allowed.

Quite literally a jewel in the crown for English Heritage. The house is fantastic and very well laid out so is easy to get round in a flowing way . Not only are there lots of information boards but plenty of helpful staff too. Also a beach area ( which serves excellent ice creams ) and a Swiss Cottage with a small museum which is well worth viewing. A great day out.

Although it was not completely open what we saw was superb. The house guides made the visit magical. Every volunteer made us feel so welcome. Certainly we will return when fully open. Hope the severe storm damage to the beach area can be repaired in time for next years reopening date. We missed not being able to walked down. Thumbs up to the staff at the cafe by the house they cope magnificently when a surge of visitors arrived. Your cream teas were mouthwatering. Thanks to all for a great visit.
