Best coffee shop in Oxford. Impeccable staff. Superb Columbian coffee. Nice deserts. Retro stylish ambiance. Big glass front. Clean toilets. Good space between tables. The best place for a restful time away from the hustle and bustle of the main street.

Interesting to see how come this place has got such a bad review - but I suppose this place might be overpriced for Oxford locals.I am writing this as a tourist who visited from London, and I got to be honest, there was nothing to complain about. Although there was quite a bit of review complaining about awful service, my experience there was just as pleasant as one of the really expensive tea rooms in London. I was served by a kind waitress. We had Cream tea sets ( a pot of tea of your choice with two scones) and the scones were decent, made me a scone addict after the visit. Also the decor is just magical that it makes you immerse in to a fantasy of Oxford even more.Again, price might not be as friendly as other places, but I was absolutely happy for the price. Definitely I would like to visit again!

It was a beautiful high tea experience. The service team were friendly and helpful and the food were delicious. My favourite was the lemon posset, it was sharp and delicious at the same time.

They claim to be the oldest cafe in OxfordIt’s very pretty but very small. They don’t take tables larger than 5.The desserts and coffee were very good. I thought that the best thing was the Belgian waffle with ice cream and syrup. It is fairly pricey so be expected to more than usual for desserts. The hostess was very friendly and service was quick.I would recommend.

Seems to be the oldest cafe in town and service lives upto its name. But they really need to work on their food. Egg sandwich was below average, though fish sandwich was just about okay. Scones were below average too. Food seemed to be fresh.Service was quick and very courteous. Went there for a high tea in the afternoon.

The tea was decent, the scones were warm, and the Victoria sponge cake was good, but the service was awful! It took 15 minutes from the time I sat at the table to the time the server came to take my order! And another 15 minutes to get my order out. There were three people working that day—they all spoke some kind of Slavic language—all three didn’t seem to like their job and were terribly rude.

Really cozy place and tasty scones! But the service was poor, we waited for at least 30 minutes for our tea (and even more for the scones), we were asked for our order twice and twice our order was wrong.I'm not putting two stars because the nice girls next to us told us that usually the service is not that bad.In my opinion it is expensive, but my friend told me that it is quite the normal price for afternoon teas.

Positive experience overall. The interior design is cute. The vegan cake I ordered wasn’t really impressive but the tea was pretty good. Staff members were nice and attentive.
