Sew in Kent
I bought a sewing machine and kept it boxed for 3 years. I finally did the beginners course which was so helpful and informative. I have now confidently unboxed my machine and used it and looking forward to future projects. I would 100% recommend Sew in Kent. Naomi was very good and calm and explained everything very well. Great pace as well. I love my cushion!!

Naomi's class was totally fab, my sister and I booked a private lesson and Naomi tailored the class to meet our needs. She was very friendly and professional. I would recommend 'Sew in Kent' to anyone who wants to learn to sew, needs a recap or would like to tackle those harder projects.

I’ve done a few terms of the weekly sew sessions and 3 one off classes, all have been great fun and well taught. I’ve made friends and each week look forward to catching up and creating something new

I've done two courses with Naomi and Gina at Sew in Kent. Sewing for Beginners and How to Make Clothes. Both were brilliant. To give you an idea in February I hadn't sewed since I was 11 and in year 7 at secondary school. I now know how to set up my sewing machine, how to read commercial sewing patterns, how to alter patterns, how to sew a range of different stitches, how to insert zippers, make button holes, tidy seams and hem Clothes. I have a range of cushions, tote bags and a new skirt to show for it. I can't wait for my next course!

I've always fancied learning how to machine sew as I have many things around the house which need a small repair but not enough to justify paying someone else to fix them.We spent the first couple of hours learning how to thread the machine which sounds basic but, as Naomi said, quality is a by product of a correctly set up machine. We then practiced sewing and pivoting on some paper templates to understand how the machine works which gave me a good understanding of how to use the machine.Making the cushion cover was straightforward and Naomi showed us simple techniques for how to cut out patterns and explained the different steps.I’d happily recommend this class to anyone who fancies sewing but is nervous as it has given me the confidence to repair many of my own things. As part of the course you are also offered two free passes to sewing group meetings where you can ask advice and learn more.Naomi is welcoming and patient and an excellent teacher.
