A Neat Touch Alterations and Wedding Dresses

My mum made my wedding dress so it means a lot to me but it needed to be taken in and hemmed. The team there are amazing and did a beautiful job with the alterations. During my two fittings, the seamstress gave me some good advice on fit etc so it was nice having input from an expert as I have no clue! Picked my dress up today and I can’t wait to wear it. Would recommend this business to anyone and will definitely return for any future alterations. Thank you so much!

Avoid! I got a bridesmaid dress altered here last week for my sisters wedding. The quote was fairly expensive but Toni was kind when I was there for fittings so I thought it was worth it to have it done properly… but she butchered the dress. I know nothing about alterations so assumed the awful fit must be a result of the dress’ design, but when my sister saw it the day before the wedding and showed me how it was meant to sit I realised it was completely wrong. We took it to a seamstress who was local to the wedding venue for last minute help and she was shocked to learn the alterations had been done by a professional. When I reached out to Toni to remedy the issue by way of a refund she sent a rude and dismissive email. I came here based on the positive Google reviews so wanted to share my own experience so others can avoid itEDIT in response to their reply - none of their comments hold true. This is only the 2nd bad review I’ve ever left as, in general, don’t see the value in doing so unless really disappointed by a service

A Neat Touch are fantastic. I asked them to design a short and fun dress for my legal wedding ceremony. They helped me to create and bring my vision to life.They did multiple fittings with me and spent so much time on the design and fabric choice to make sure it was perfect. They listened to what I wanted and gave me great advice. I loved the whole process.They also found a perfect Pearl veil to match and took up an intricate dress for me.I couldn’t recommend the team enough. Whatever your vision - they can make it happen!

I am so happy I chose to get my wedding dress alterations done here. They did a fantastic job, responded to emails really quickly and were lovely people to work with. You know when you have a garment of clothing that you absolutely love, an intricate design that you laid eyes on and immediately said “I have to have that”, one you’re not willing to send back for a refund or give away - but lo and behold, the sizing is just off?! Too loose, too long, clumsy looking on your frame but you still can’t bear to part with it?! You take it to A Neat Touch!!! You’re going to pay an arm and a leg, I won’t lie, but you’ll be extremely happy with the fit after they’ve done the alterations! So much so, you’ll want to tell the retailer you purchased it from to just have A Neat Touch make some of their clothes because they understand the concept of “true to size”. Highly recommend them!!!

I brought my wedding dress here a week before my wedding after the first alterations place I took it to said they were not able to do many of the alterations I needed. The ladies at A Neat Touch managed to find time for me the day after I called them in a panic, and when I came in, they immediately said they'd be able to make the alterations I wanted. They also suggested a few changes that massively improved the look of my dress, AND fixed some things that the last place hadn't done quite right. They were able to alter my dress in time for my wedding despite my last minute appointment, and at a very reasonable price! And they steamed the dress when I went to pick it up. They transformed my dress from something that I really wasn't happy with to something that fit me perfectly. I am so happy I managed to find them!

Toni was absolutely amazing from start to finish - I had a secondhand wedding dress that had already been tailored but she re-tailored it perfectly for me. Nothing was too much and she would always fit me in for extra appointments and added small details that made a huge difference. Thank you so much! Would highly recommend.

Comment written by my wife: I bought a beautiful silk wedding dress second hand from Oxfam charity shop this year, which I absolutely loved, but it needed quite a lot of altering to be able to wear it on my wedding day (taking in the bodice significantly so this fitted me properly, along with raising the hem and adding a petticoat for more volume). I took it along to A Neat Touch Studio where we we had several fittings with Denise. She was incredibly professional, patient and accommodating of my, my family's and my bridesmaid's multiple views of the work needed. More fittings/work was required than originally planned, which took us tight to my wedding day, so I was incredibly appreciative of Denise's flexibility and hard work to make sure my dress was completed in good time. She did an amazing job and completely transformed the dress; no one could believe it was second hand and not personally fitted to me - I could never have afforded to buy a dress off the rack that looked like mine in the end, so I'm incredibly grateful to the studio! Denise was also really helpful for wider tips, for example, discussing different petticoats I bought off the internet, which shoes and accessories to pick when I brought several options to try alongside my dress fittings. I am so grateful to Denise and the studio, and would highly recommend them to anyone reading this! (If only I could do it all over again!!)
