I have been a devoted customer for years. Recently, I had an irritated eye and was able to get an appointment that same morning and saw Deepa. She immediately diagnosed something that was quite serious and set me on the right path for treatment. Wry grateful for Bird and Fairley.

Very good opticians, I have used them for many years. Any problems with my glasses I just pop in and they will sort it out straight away for me. The staff are also very friendly. Thank you.

Great service from Bird & Fairly. I walked in without an appointment and was greeted with a smile, the young lady carried out a repair to my glasses free of charge, they now have a future customer who will recommend them to friends and family.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Bird & Fairley. My husband is in hospital and needed some glasses. B&F were so professional, gave me sound advice and sympathetic to our situation. They managed to get the new glasses in 2 days and as you can see, Nigel is very happy that he can now see the doctors faces and clock.

Excellent Service. I recently had a cornea operation and because of the steroid drops I am using I needed to get regular eye pressure readings. The opticians I was using didn't seemed interested in just doing that and never got back to me. I contacted Bird and Farley as I had a slight ache in my eye which concerned me and they booked me in immediately. Fortunately, all was OK, but just wanted to put out there that their service was excellent , the people were very friendly and helpful and the knowledge about my eye condition was first class. I also picked up a few tips on how to properly administer my eye drops!

Excellent Excellent service I had 2 pairs of glasses Last year 2022From them, then 10 months on this month I managed to lose my reading glasses 6 days before my holiday The staff were amazing and managed to get me a new pair in time for my holiday all via email as I work 13hr Shifts and wasn’t able to get into store! I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend them!

I have been a patient at Bird & Fairley for about 14 years now and have recently had my yearly appointment with them being a lady of a certain age! I was extremely happy with how my appointment went. The Optometrist, Jill, is so good and makes you feel really at ease and is extremely professional. After a very thorough eye examination she spends so much time explaining everything to you not only about changes in your vision but also about the health of your eyes in general which is all very reassuring. My distance vision had slightly altered and Bird & Fairley managed to have the new lenses sent through and this morning I went in and they were able to put them into my existing frames which saved me being without my glasses and also saved me the cost of having new frames too. This of course isn’t always possible but it’s nice that was offered to me. I always find the staff in general very pleasant on the phone and they are always very welcoming when you enter. So all in all I am really happy to recommend Bird & Fairley to anyone looking for an optician in Great Dunmow.

Very thorough and efficient eye test using the most up-to-date scanning equipment, which was fully explained to me. New glasses were ready for collection in just over a week. As a customer, I felt served and not just processed.
